Hi All, I found in 1880, Horsehead, Johnson Co, ARK: family 122 Caigle, Jane 40 a widow Arthur 21 Willie 18 Mollie 15 Roofus 14 Thomas 12 Harrison 8 reported all born TN Also Roofus Cagle age 13 was a farm hand at the Gray family place. I also found family #225 Griffin, Sarah a widow age 45 b:TN McAnally, Joseph W. 14 b:TX Griffin, Adna 6 b:ARK McAnally, Henry 18 b:TX McAnally, Irine his wife 25 b:ARK I went through all of Johnson Co, ARK. I still can not find an Isabelle/Isabella James/Jones who married Arthur Columbus Cagle. I may have miss her of course. I am still searching for proof of the story that Isabelle/Isabella and her 2 children drown in a flash flood; Arthur was unable to hold on to them; he climbed a tree to survive; this supposedly happened around the Clarksville area. I'll check to see if there are any newspapers available for 1880-90 to see if an article was printed. If anyone has any other info, please post :) Thanks, Cindy Maschner Riverside Co, CA

Between the time of the inventory and my first visit, information on the gravemarker of Mary J. Owens' 2nd husband, Shandy, had been obliterated. There is an unmarked adult grave to the left of Mary's but with approximately a grave's width between. The property ownership map shows another cemetery to the north and east, about 1/4 mile from IDO's property. According to the Johnson County Cemetery Location Directory this gravesite is reported to contain 2 to 3 graves, no commercial markers, no identities given. Isaac D. Owens' property adjoined that of C. C. Shandy on the south.

Widow Mary J. Owens filed to probate his estate, while my gr-gr-grandmother's name was Mary Elizabeth Owens. Isaac was actually married first to Christina Epperson, mother of his first two children William Isaac and Sarah Elizabeth; she died in 1867, and IDO married Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Hays, a widow. Your comments support the theory that he had three wives. I show IDO's land at Section 23, Township 9 North, Range 22 West, 160 acres, granted on December 30 1882. John Smith (father of Mary Elizabeth) received 80 acres at Section 9, T9N, R22W. What's your source on the Nordin Cemetery lead? Hickey was a common surname along the Pope/Johnson county line. Any indication that Mary Jane was buried next to IDO? Thanks, Best, Walt
