Hi Everyone, I just received the Arkansas Prior Birth Index, Vols. 1, 2 and 3, CD produced by the AR Genealogical Society and will do lookups. If you want to instead of flooding the list with requests and maxing out everyone's inbox, email me privately. PLEASE DO NOT ask for all the Smith, Jones, etc etc. When requesting a lookup, please state first and last names. Also in the email subject line put "APBI Lookup". I have many resource books and will need to know exactly what book you are asking for me to look in. Also, the county you think the person was born in or the mother's maiden name would be helpful when asking for a lookup, but not necessary. As most of you know, that the state of Arkansas did not require a birth to be reported until 1914. So, the people listed in this CD are the ones that were born before that date that wanted or needed a birth certificate. So, they applied for a delayed-birth certificate. I may carbon copy my results to the list for future researchers.
