Have not found maiden name for Mary A., but suspect that if there was Indian blood, it came from her.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/hV.2ADE/2269.1 Message Board Post: Hello, I work with the Madison County Genealogical & Historical Society, and I believe the Old Weatherby Home Place & Cemetery is actually in Madison County....not Johnson County. The enumeration of it is included in our "Cemetery Book #4" which was published March 2001. The information that we have on the cemetery was given to us by Oscar Williams, who currently owns the land where it is location. Oscar gives the location as in Section 22, Township 13, Range 25. Oscar also states "...there are 4 or 5 graves, but the terrain is very, very rough and a person would either have to walk or be an expert four-wheeler rider to reach the graves..." If you wish to contact Oscar Williams, I can provide you with his telephone number. Contact me at my private e-mail if you want it. He can probably tell you more about it than I can, since I've never been to the location. Hope this helps... Joy Russell

Samuel C. (Reverend) Turner and Elizabeth (Betsy) Norris [other possible surname -or middle name- = MAY] are my 3G grandparents. I have seen notes on various trees that say that Samuel was a minister of some Christian denomination of the day. Also, there are a few trees that say he also served as a representative in the lower house of Arkansas in 1846. I am descended through their son, John Henry Turner, born in 1828 in Dickson County, TN. I see you are related to one of the other sons, Jesse Norris Turner. The US Census records going all the way back to 1790 trace the movements of this family. There is an entry with the DAR that has John Turner [Samuel C.'s father] serving in the revolutionary war out of Halifax, Virginia. These are the only public records I have found so far in my search on this line [my direct paternal lineage]. If you find anything else, please contact me. John

Surnames: Wofford, Hanson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hV.2ADE/2263 Message Board Post: I am the granddaughter of Joseph Daniel Hanson and Daisy Wofford. I am at a brick wall trying to find out who Joseph's parents are. I have a marriage certificate for Joseph and Daisy that shows they married June 23, 1896 in Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas. (It shows "Daniel Hanson"). The Benjamin Franklin Wofford family (Daisy's father) moved from Georgia to Arkansas (Johnson County) and lived there for many years before moving to Shamrock, Texas. I believe the William Benton Wofford family did the same (father of Benjamin). As for Joseph Daniel Hanson, I know he was born 14 March 1870 in St. Louis, Missouri. I don't know when or why he went to Arkansas. He did work as a foreman for the railroad. I was hoping someone might be able to direct me to a wedding announcement in a newspaper, business or social columns in the paper or to obituaries where they are listed as family members attending someone's service. Joseph and Daisy had three children-two of whom were bor! n in Hartman, Johnson County, Arkansas. The eldest is Sarah Nell Hanson who was born December 2, 1903 and the next child was Mary Helen Hanson born December 17, 1905. I'd appreciate any help someone could give me. Thank you in advance, Michelle Morris
