There is only so much you can get off the internet and your own library. At some point you have to visit the place your family likely lived. Don't forget about the courthouse. Marriage records, birth, land and probate records. Figure on at least a couple of days if not more. Good luck to you.

    3. Martha Bryant Tuesday, July 26, 2005 MOREHOUSE, Mo. -- Martha Fay Duke Bryant, 92, of Morehouse died Monday, July 25, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born May 21, 1913, in Lamar, Ark., daughter of Jim and Mabel Hopper. She first married Troy Duke Sept. 14, 1937. He died Dec. 3, 1983. She later married Dade Bryant, who also preceded her in death. Bryant moved to Morehouse in 1974 from East Prairie, Mo. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include two sons, Earl Duke of Momence, Ill., Larry Duke of East Prairie; six daughters, Martha Jackson of St. Anne, Ill., Barbara Taylor, Marie Day and Sue Ziegenhorn-Williams of Morehouse, Louise Clay of Braggadocio, Mo., Brenda Cranford of Malvern, Ark.; two sisters, Raymona Worley of Hallsville, Mo., Nadine Turner of Sikeston, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers, five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. today. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Goss officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.

They're listed in tax rolls and I found reference that William AILLS was a Pioneer Arkansas Territory. William is listed in Johnson Co. AR.Census Records Aills, William Johnson, AR 1837 Aills, William Johnson, AR 1838 In the 1840 census, William's wife, Sarah Aills lives in Sparda and is listed as the head of household. There is one male under 5 and one male 40-50. There is one female under 5, 1 female 5-10 and 1 female 20-30. The people just seemed to have disappeared. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to search in Johnson Co., for this information. I feel lost. I live in Tulsa OK so it would be fairly easy to make the trip but I don't know where to start.
