Couple together 60 years 09/18/05 SIKESTON Missouri — Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Phillips celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 15 with family and friends during a reception held at Shady Acres Church of Christ. Phillips and the former Irene Breedlove were married Sept. 15, 1945, in Lamar, Ark. Mrs. Phillips is the daughter of late Ernest and Ethel Breedlove, and her husband is the son of the late Jesse and Susie Phillips. The couple are the parents of Melody Luscombe of Paducah, Ky., and Terri Bishop of Dexter. They have three grandchildren: Jason Luscombe of Melber, Ky., Josh Luscombe of Yichang, China, and Erica Gentry of Dexter; and one great- granddaughter, Hailey Grace Luscombe of Melber.
Hey, we are connected, I am so happy you answered my query. Do you happen to know if they stayed in Lawrence county, Ark. Do you have any picutures of them? Can you tell me anything about his wife Mary E. Oakes. I am trying to run down their children who may know something about the family. I am connected through John Chisum and Elleanor Gillentine, they had Elisha Chism who married first to Elizabeth Walden 1787, Lincoln county, Kentucky, Elizabeth died and Elisha married Winniefred? We haven't been able to find out her surname. Elisha Chism had Benjamin Chism born 1798, who married Polly Walker, daughter of John Adam Walker Sr. They inturn had William Chism born 1827 who married Mary Artimes or artimus Lewallena about 1858, Izard county, Ark. They had children Thomas Chism who was born 1859, John Green Chism born 1863 and a Mary Chism. Thomas Chism and Alabama Reeves had John Henry Chism, Albert and Delcinia Chism. John Henry Chism was my gg grandfather. Elisha Chism died in intestated in 1827, Lawrence county, Ark. his wife Winnifred Chism was executor over his estate. He only named one child in which I guess he was still at home and not married George Washington Chism, he left him a colt named Belloway. We find George Washington Chism was married three times, he is related in someway to the Higginbottoms. You can trace Benjamin and Winnifred Chisolm migration from Lawrence to Clay county then to Izard and Independence county. They all settled in Izard. Elisha Chism arrived in Ark. about 1817 -1819. They were the second earliest Chisms to arrive. Jesse Chisholm from the Cherokee nation who later migrated to Fort Gibson was in Ark. about 1812, filed a greviance with the government because the Osage Indians were raiding their homes, etc. Elisha Chism's family stayed in Ark. This line of Chisums are related to the Texas Cattle Barron, Cow John Simpson Chism who use to travel to Ark. and use the Hot Springs for it's healing properties. He died in Ark. and the family took him back to Texas to be buried. I am hoping you can help fill in some of the blanks on Henderson Chism and tell me a little about his wife and where she descended from?
