Their line goes Thomas >> John >> Frances Milberry Patterson Rogers >> Mary Elizabeth Rogers Woods >> Arthur Edgar Woods (their grandfather). Thomas, Mary and family are on the 1850 Weakley Co., census. That link is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnweakle/census/1850_09.htm, and living with them is a woman named Mary, age 79. Thomas' mother was Sarah Dicy Riddle, so this person might be Mary's mother. I haven't seen the microfilmed census page, so I don't know if this person is a Patterson, or has a different last name. Asa Bacchus' parents were John Bacchus and Mary Ellison according to Goodspeed's biography of him (I think you can find that at the Ouachita Co., AR site.). Asa and our Mary are the right age to be siblings, so the Mary living in Thomas' household could be Mary Ellison Bacchus. I haven't done any more research to prove or disprove that, but my very uneducated guess is that Asa and our Mary are siblings. By the way, Turnbo's Tales of the Ozarks has a few stories that mention our Thomas Patterson. If you go to the Marion Co. AR website, you can find them there. There are also several mentions of Thomas' second wife's (Hannah Wood) family. Her parents were George Wood(s) and Nancy Coker.
