I have no idea if I'm in your line of Poteet's, but I found a small, pocket Bible belonging to Juanita Vivian Poteet. It was given to her on the first birthday in her marriage to Jack Poteet, by Jack. It is inscribed: 'To my Dear little wife Juanita Vivian P. Poteet. July 11, 1951.' I searched and found a Juanita Vivian Pickens born 7/11/1914 and died 1/9/96. I live in Memphis and she died in Memphis. She would have married Jack 11/23/1950 at the age of 36. She would have been 82 when she died. I also have some family photo's and none of them are marked with any information. I would love to return all of these things to a surviving relative. I was hoping to find Juanita herself and surprise her. If you know of any living relatives that might like to have this information, I'd love to get it to them. I also found a file on large model trains from places all over the US. I believe it is the Poteet's in the photographs, but they are only marked for date and l! ocation, so I'm not sure. Thanks!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hV.2ADE/1627.1.2 Message Board Post: Well, you have found a living and breathing Jones descendant! My great-grandfather was William Thomas Jones, born in Cartersville, GA in 1862. My grandmother was Mary Victoria Jones, one of his eight children. How do you fit into this family? I couldn't really tell by your message posting. William and Margaret Manning's other children were: Rufus Clemency, Etta Luennia, Robert William, James Richard, Lula Isabel, Lela Mae (Lula and Lela were twins), and Thomas Chesley. Chesley was the blind fiddle player, and was quite good, but mostly played around taverns around Coal Hill and Altus. The only ones that I remember and knew were Lula and Etta. Etta and my grandmother Mary were widowed fairly early and lived out the rest of their lives together, even going to the rest home together. Lula was a chain smoker and drank Cokes constantly - quite different from my very devoted Christian grandmother. I can tell you all of the stories that I know, and perhaps you could fill me in on some that I don't know. Mary (my grandmother) married Samuel Joseph Barnett, also from GA, but they met and married in Knoxville. They are both buried at the Coal Hill Cemetery, as is Chesley and Etta, two that I know of for certain. I was at the cemetery not long ago and took pictures of the headstones - I would be glad to send along copies to you. Where do you live? I am in Springdale, AR, but was raised in Fort Smith, AR. My dad was Luther Barnett, who died six years ago. I have one surviving aunt, Mary Margaret Barnett Edwards, who is sister to my dad and daughter of Mary Victoria Jones. I will anxiously wait to hear from you! Regards, Cindy Barnett Weyer

For me to not request the word of the people to place in my family record would be an unspeakable mistake for my ancestors to come to deal with. Calling all history buffs and geneologists. I have created a Survey that asks questions about this wonderous time in our nations history. If you would like to leave behind some kind of message to our ancestors to come here is your chance. This survey will be included in my family history so that my child, and grandchildren shall truly know what it was like to be an American during this historic time.
