John Rance a son was married to Ida Dobbs. Lulla Helton married a Joseph Truless. Other brothers and sisters were WH Helton who moved to Birchwood TN. Ona Helton Hamby moved back east. All of these Helton's originally came from NC to McMinn Co. TN. It was rumored that some of the Helton's were removed on the trail of tears and were dropped off at Jackson CO. AL. to have a baby. This family is Native American but not sure of all of the connections in Jackson CO. AL. Stevens was the place they listed on their cherokee applications.
