Can anyone tell me if the online indexes for cemeteries in Jackson Co. are fairly complete. I am looking for James B. Maguire, his wife Rhoda, or any Province's. I can't seem to find them and am hoping that there are still some to be transcribed. They lived in Jacksonport. Thanks for any help! Lisa R. Hutchinson

Hi Lisa, I've identified about 25 cemeteries in Jackson County that were never inventoried. In addition, all of the inventories listed (except for one) were done between 1964-1976. Plus, inventories were and are subject to human errors. So, in no way are the inventories complete. The area around Jacksonport always has been vulnerable to river floods, though, and I believe a number of early gravesites in that area were destroyed by flooding. I see records show that James B. Maguire and Rhoda C. Province were married 17 Jan 1874 in Jacksonport. Do you find them in the 1880 or 1900 census of Jackson County?
