I am hoping to find Mary's death certificate. I haven't gone to OKC yet, because I don't have any idea where she might have died. I live in Oklahoma. Brock and his wife Edna in 1900 in Independence Co., in 1910, with only his son Oather, in 1920 with his wife Lucy all in Independence Co.,Arkansas. Perhaps if they were living in Jackson Co. at the time of Daniel's death, he was returned to Independence Co. for burial next to his first wife as the two counties are very close together. Daniel G. is not listed on the Arkansas Death Index that is on ancestry.com which starts in 1914 and goes to 1955. May be listed with initials only or something like that. I am not related but hope this helps you some. Carol in St. Louis, Mo. timcar71@att.net

I don't know where he is buried, but there may be an obit on him with information on his brother in the Arkansas paper? I haven't made a trip to Oklahoma City as of yet, hopefully I will locate them by the time I get to go. Could yours have gone to OK also?
Hi, just wondering if their is a picture of the old Amagon School. I believe it had two rooms in it. There was large trees in the front. Thanks, Gwen Neidefer
There is a collage of photos of Jackson Co. schools in 1946 hanging on the wall in the administration building of Newport High School that includes one of the Amagon school. It's a side view, but several trees are visible. Several years ago I photographed each of those shots the best I could. I'll email it separately. If anyone else is interested, please advise. I don't think it's appropriate to email attachments directly to the list. Does anyone have information on the Rogers family who lived in Newport in the very early 1900's? I'm thinking specifically about "Kurg"? and Mattie Rogers. They had ties to Rogers in Hardeman County, Tennessee. My grandmother, Mary Ellen Josephine Rogers, who was a young girl at the time from Tennessee, came and lived with them in the Newport area for a while as a youngster, and I'm trying, unsuccessfully, to learn more about her family tree. I believe Kurg may have been her uncle.
