Hello: My Uncle Daniel Wood worked for the railroad. I have a picture of myself and my daughter sitting on a something with a wooden top and wheels for baggage handling. I remember the restaurant that my Uncle;s wife family owned. Seems like the hotel was down the street from the railroad station. I have post card that was sent to her as she worked at the "Dry Goods" . store. I can't put my finger right now. Her name was Emily Ann Davis White. The post card was sent about 1918 as this post had military picture on the front of the card. His name was Walden. I am hoping to get a trip in to that side of the state soon. My Grandmother lived in Bradford in her later years and we drove to Newport pick out the fish we wanted. They were all in some kind of tank in the store. I guess I have rambled too long but many fond memories came back.

I live in Newport and think it was probably on Front Street, as that runs along the railroad and the old Depot Museum is right there. I will try to do some checking and see if I can find out exactly which one of the buildings it was in. It shouldn't be too difficult. Front Street is only a couple of blocks (there isn't much to downtown) and I think I probably know the building but will do some verifying and get back to you. Are there any Williamson researchers out there? My ggg-grandparents are: Robert "Daniel" Williamson (b=10 May, 1814; d=11 Mar, 1898) Joanna A. Swatsell Williamson (b=10 Sep, 1812; d=22 Jan, 1883) They were married on 15 Dec, 1834 in Tennessee and both are buried in Liberty Cemetery in Independence Co., AR with several other related Williamson family members. I'm curious about all the Williamson lines in Independence and surrounding counties so as to try and figure out how they may connect. The real problem is, I don't have a good handle on who all my bunch exactly is - I have a few I'm still trying to place as to exactly how they fit into my family (if at all). I also have some conflicting information. So I'm trying to identify other Williamson lines in the area so I can exclude those people when I run into them.
