    1. [ARJACKSO] Looking for a lady named Henry in Jackson County, Arkansas
    2. Rhonda Houston
    3. I am new to your list and I was hoping to gain a piece of genealogical information so I could make a few more of my family puzzle fit. Her name was Lucinda Warmack Henry b. 1848 Patterson, Benton, Wayne, MO. d. and all I have is 1917, in Jefferson, Jackson, Arkansas where she as a widow, and two daughters were living. Lucinda married in 1865, to John Thomas Henry of Missouri, who had been b. 1831, was the son of a father who had been born in France, and a mother who had been born in Bavaria. He passed away sometime after 1880, in Dist# 137, Jefferson, Jackson, Arkansas. I have looked through all the online cemeteries listed in Jackson County, to see if I could find either of these individuals buried, with no luck. I was hoping you could assist me with this. This is my primary concern; where Lucinda Warmack Henry passed away and when...sometime around 1917. They had two daughters, but apparently I have just made the an interesting discovery: (An interesting noted I must tell you is that via both daughter's SSI records were of course, filled out by each girl, which I have been able to find online denote that the two girls were twins, however, what wasn't known until I made this discovery was that both had been born on either 02nd or 05th of Dec 1879, in Jefferson, Jackson, Arkansas. Apparently one of the daughters didn't really know which day her birthday had actually fallen on since it was now up to her to furnish this birth event as she filled out her SSI form, and I thought this was a very interesting discovery since they both filled out their own SSI form so long ago.) Respectfully Rhonda Warmack Houston (rfhouston@mindspring.com)

Author: collectrlady Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.arkansas.counties.jackson/1566.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The Decker Store was about 3 & 1/2 miles due north of Tuckerman, on what is now the southern intersection of Arkansas State Highway 145, and Jackson County Road 69 (aka Decker Store Road). JC Road 69 (gravel) starts at Hwy 145, goes about a mile & a half west, turns north for 2 miles, past both Dowells Chapel (aka Battle Axe) and Centerville Cemeteries, then back east, joining Hwy 145 just before 145 (and the pavement) ends. It is my understanding from talking to older locals that the Decker Store was on the Decker Farm, which was quite extensive. They were married in Tennessee about 1829 and moved to Jackson Co., AR, in the mid 1830s. The children that I have, born in Tennessee or Arkansas, are: Miles P., George C., James C., Thomas, Thankful E., Oran H., and Albert A. The family is listed in the 1850 census, but only James C. and family are listed in the 1860 census. I next find family members in the 1880 census in Fresno Co., CA. Please contact me if any of this rings a bell. Jim Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hello, Land records are at the courthouse level. That is the only way to find out exactly where the land is located at, by title and description of it under the buyers or sellers name. Of course, whoever is living on it at the time could help you also, but the location of it would be in the courthouse records. J. 1. [ARJACKSO] New Gravestones Project
    2. Tootie Dennis
    3. Greetings Arkansas Researchers, I wouldlike to invite you to check out the Arkansas Gravestone Photo Project and participate in its growth as it will only grow with everyone's involvement. The www.Arkansasgravestones.org i s a wonderful tool to preserve the headstones of your ancestors. With the advent of time and weather and vandalism, our headstones are disappearing at an alarming rate. We need to work on preserving a digital image of our family stones as a fitting tribute to our ancestors. This site is an easy-to-use site that exists to make this preservation possible. Additionally there is no cost to the contributor or to anyone wanting to view the photos, hard to find in this day and age where everything costs something. Plus this is a great way to have a backup for all those photos you presently have. There are no annoying ads flashing, moving or popping. Particularly valuable are those very old headstone photos that you have in grandma's photo album. Scan them into your computer and add them to the site as they may be the only testament to your ancestors life. Share them with the world. This is link for the Arkansasgravestones.org GPP Arkansasgravestones.org has just come on line. We are presently working to get it setup and we would invite you to check it out. Also, I am asking for your help, please add your photos to the site. Every county will have space. I am your Arkansas State coordinator and I am truly excited about being involved. If you need help in adding your pictures i will be glad to help....another great way to save a grave. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at tootied@suddenlink.net to respond to this message. Many of you know me for my SHARP research. Any one interested in hosting any of the counties i would like to hear from you. For you information there are 11 more states with the gravestones.org sites and more are being added. Thank you very much! Tootie Dennis aka Ira Sharp Dennis tootied@suddenlink.net The following states are currently using a version of the Gravestone Photo Project software: www.arizoniagravestones.org www.arkansasgravestones www.coloradogravestones www.illinoisgravestones www.iowagravestones www.marylandgravestones www.mainegravestones www.nebraskagravestones www.newgrunswickgravestones (Canada) www.newmexicogravestones www.newyorkgravestones www.ohiogravestones www.oregongravestones www.pennsylvaniagravestones www.virginiagravestones www.utahgravestones
