Posted on: Jackson Co. Ar Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Jackson/185 Surname: ------------------------- I was born in Newport Arkansas, Jackson Co. February 2,1950 to Robert Leo Bailey and Mary Josephine Raney Bailey of Tuckerman. My father is the son of Joseph Bailey and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Cochran Bailey. My father passed away when I was 14 or 15 years old. I never met or knew him. My father had brothers named Ruchel, Ed and Hubert. There are more but I don't know the names. I don't know if there are any sisters. I did met my Uncle Ed one time. We wrote occassionally. I guessed he passed away when the letters stopped. I was never notified or found out when he died. My father was married before my mother. I don't know his first wife's name but they had a son named Dennis Bailey (Milam). Dennis was later adopted. I met Dennis one time. We lost contact. I am looking for anyone that knew my father or relatives from his brothers. I need to have some connection to my father. I have only a few pictures my mother gave me and old letters that my grandmother gave me. That's not enough. I need to have more to make him real....good or bad...I need to know him.

My uncle John F. Summers and four other passengers in the vehicle was hit by a train on Jan 03, 1946 in Tuckerman. All were killed. One of the passengers was a solider on leave that had been hitchhiking according to the family. This young man is buried next to my uncle in an unmarked grave. I would like to know if the newspaper article tells his name So that we can put this name in Ballew Chapel Cemetery records. Thanks

Hi gang, Since my last note on 26 August, I've put 10 additional cemeteries online - 9 old inventories, and a new inventory of Coffeyville Cemetery (1100 names) done recently by Donna Stevens (thanks, Donna!). The cemeteries are: Westmoreland, White Church, Walker, Hankins-Sullins (aka Hankins or Sullins), Bowen's Ridge, Burton (aka Layton), Robinson, Sackett Family, and Coffeyville. Also I added to the Ballew's Chapel inventory a section that was originally not listed with the inventory. As always, you can find these cemeteries on the Jackson County Archives page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ar/jackson/jackson.html . This makes 76 cemeteries online for Jackson County, and this finishes my work on the original inventories from the Historical Society. You'd think, in a county that never had as much as 20,000 in population, that 76 cemeteries would be enough. Wrong! Can you help me to identify the cemeteries which never were inventoried?
