    2. M. Scott Williams
    3. I've just recently discovered that my great-grandfather's brother, George A. Williams and his wife Anebelle Fannie (Bohannon) Williams lived in Newport for at least a few years. A couple of different addresses were listed in Newport and I also have record of Belle being buried in Walnut Grove Cemetary on Oct 13, 1932. I have no information on when/where George was buried. I am going through a few papers I recently uncovered in my grandmother's house and would appreciate any information on this family that anyone may have. Thank you in advance for any information you may have. Scott Williams -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ M. Ar Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Jackson/10279 Surname: Bise, Ripley, Nash ------------------------- I'm looking for the following families in Jackson Co. Ark. from about 1899 to present. Ripley, Plase, Ed, Maude, Stonewall, Buddie R. and Ollie P.they had 1/2 brother name Bise, Henry I. and William D.and also Albert L.Bise my g-grandfather. Albert lived in Franklin Co. Tx. Henry and Wm lived in Jackson Co. with their 1/2 brothers' and sister. Their mother is Mary E. Gibbs. She remarried in 1899 to a George L. Nash in Jackson Co. at the courthouse I found where they married 11/4/1899. She is listed with him on the 1900 census at Tuckerman Twp. as his wife. Then I found her as Mary E. Ripley on the 1910 census in Cache Twp. with two of her children Ollie and Buddie in the household with her. I find that strange, she lists herself as a Ripley again. I would like to find out more about her and her children. I know that Plese Ripley moved to White Co. Ark. He died there 12/1972. William D. Bise stayed in Jackson Co. the rest of his life. Albert L. Bise stayed in Franklin Co. the rest of his life. I would like to know what happened to the rest of the family, where they went, their families, and where they are buried.

    3. Posted on: Jackson Co. Ar Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Jackson/287 Surname: DAVIS ------------------------- Greetings, Michael! To be honest, I just found out Martha's maiden name yesterday. What I have on her so far is that the 1900 Red River Co., TX Census shows her born April 1857 in MS to parents both born in TN. However, another census, the 1880 in Red River Co., TX (where I believe the family moved between mar and july of 1877 from AR) shows her as 27 years old, making the birth year 1853. So, if you have a Martha in the family with a birthplace of MS and parents born in TN, could very well be that Martha's related! Please let me know. We may find a connection yet! Meanwhile, happy hunting! ---Laura

PAYNE (b. about 1871), and brother Robert S. PAYNE (b. about 1873) were also born in Newport, Jackson Co., AR. However, the family may have spent time in Poinsett Co. 2. Hi Folks: This is a transcribed letter to Jesse A. Weaver from my Grandfather Hiram James Wood. Sidney, AR. Dec. 3rd, 1898 I received your kind letter. Was proud to hear from you. This leaves all well. We hope you are alright. I have not seen your wife since you left here. Guess they are well or I would have heard from them. Well, Doc you want to know what is going on in this country. Sam (Samuel Daughtery) has moved on Davis place. McAfee and Daugherity is raising the (?) (devil). Davis is very quiet. Very quiet Bill Garrison is looking to the beautiful beyond where he can (ware) (wear) the golden crown. Henry Bone is here and alright. Baxter and Cochran is still farming our bean crop. MacWeaver (?) and family has gone to Texas so I am told. Layfatte Garretts boy gone and asked Dr. Johnson $50.00. (I don't know if this meant a loan or he left owing a bill.) Bill Ramsey has played the devil with the Carter place where W.S. Claxton lives. He has entered 80 acres of the best land on the place. Well, Doc there is plenty of cotton to pick here yet and lots of bad weather. No cotton been picked in there in three weeks and still raining. Well, I will try to write more next time. Give James Weaver me best regards and tell old _______ _______ is still allright. So no more, yours truly, H. J Wood. This was the best I could figure out. If anyone out there is good at this or wants a copy of the original copy, please let me know. I would welcome anyone who can help me with this. Also, some of the family names that tie in with this letter are family and I think some related by marriage or just friends. Enjoy, Marian Wood Hilton
