Hi Ethel, Go on State Highway 37 west from Tuckerman, follow the signs as the highway weaves and winds. You will come across two liquor stores as you come to the place name Elgin (I think it's about seven miles). Take the county road next the last liquor store - the stand-alone store just before the highway turns and crosses the Black River into Independence County. Take that dirt road to its end and turn right onto another dirt road. That road goes straight for a short distance and then turns to the left. Once it turns, continue for maybe 300-400 yards or so. The cemetery will be to your left-hand side. Hi gang, Well, I knew this was going to happen as I'm leaving on a research trip for the week in eight hours :-( First of all, the virus does not come from a RootsWeb mailing list. Attachments are not allowed on RootsWeb mailing lists. See http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/announce.html#virus for more information. Also, PLEASE don't open attachments unless you expect to receive an specific attachment from someone in particular! Again, PLEASE don't open attachments unless you expect to receive one! One more time...well, you get the idea. The particulars on the virus that Alma is talking about can be found here: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected] http://vil.mcafee.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=99069& Please take heed of this information and avoid opening attachments, even from people, friends, or relatives you know, unless you are expecting to receive an attachment. Thanks, Mark Williamson ARJACKSO listkeeper [email protected]
To everyone in my address book! :-< I received an email this morning as a result of something I posted on a genealogy list. The Independence County Arkansas list to be exact. That email had an attachment, after scanning with McAfee, I attempted to open it. I got an error message, something about the file being corrupt and it may be an internal error. I have sense received emails from myself! And another from someone who apparently received the same email and attachment. I did not send it out! If you receive an email from me with an attachment, DO NOT OPEN!!!!!!!!!!! I have scanned my computer with two different virus detectors and have not found a virus! Someone please help. What do I do? I am very sorry if you have been sent a virus from my computer. The original email came to me from [email protected] with the message, "have a look to the attachment". Help, Alma [email protected] http://198.63.2.33/index.php?ResellerID=272129
Hi All: Found this web site and thought it might be helpful to some. http://specialcollections.tasc.dot.gov/ It lists train wrecks from 1911 along with other items including air crashes. The search engine is hard to navigate. I found the index much easier to use. Alma [email protected] Visit my store @ http://198.63.2.33/index.php?ResellerID=272129
Please check out the Arkansas Migration link I just put on the www.rootsweb.com/~arjackso down at the bottom near queries You might want to submit your family too and you can check names of the ones already there. Good Hunting. Charlotte Smith

Thanks to Velda Price for the 1880 mortality census schedule. It is now on the website and of course to Mark Williamson for putting it on the Archives. More contributions are welcomed for Jackson Co.
Dear Listmembers, I am hoping that there are some Cullins and Elms Researchers on the list that can help me identify some of the family/friends in the photos I just posted to the following website: <A HREF="http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/h/u/g/Karen-S-Hughes/index.html">Cullins, Lockwood, Sherry, and Wright Family Page</A> . These photos were my grandmother's. Her name was Cynthia Carene Sherry. Her mother was Mary Lou "Luna" Cullins, daughter of John Swain Cullins and Alice Jane Elms. Hi gang, We've added the 1880 Mortality Schedule for Jackson County to the Archives website. Velda Price has graciously given us her transcription to put online. You can find it at the Jackson County Archives page for USGebWeb, at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ar/jackson/jackson.html , under the "Census Records" subheading. The actual file address is http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ar/jackson/census/1880/1880mort.txt . Mark Williamson ARJACKSO listkeeper [email protected]
Hi, Would there be someone on the list that could look up the record of W.T. Bowman on page 609 on the Jackson Co. 1860. I know this takes a lot of your time and I want to thank you. Mary

Hi gang, Many of you who live in Arkansas already know about the plan brought forth by the Governor's Office to TOTALLY eliminate state aid to Arkansas public libraries. Already, there has been a public outcry in response to this cut, and the Joint Budget Committe has restored just 30% of the state aid for public libraries. More information can be found here: http://www.cals.lib.ar.us/whatsnew/stateaid.htm http://www.asl.lib.ar.us/PublicL/staidpts.htm I just talked to Mrs. Lacy, head of the Jackson County Library, and she said that for the Jackson County Library, the cut in state aid represents a loss of about $20,000 for the upcoming budget year (July 2001 through June 2002.) Many other smaller county libraries, she continued, are in even more desperate need of state funding, and some may be forced to close their doors. Please consider doing the following: (1) If you live in Arkansas, please continue to contact your elected officials about restoring additional funding to the state library system. (2) The Jackson County Library has been of wonderful benefit for those of us doing genealogy. The Library routinely does genealogy lookups free of charge. If you have benefited from the library, please consider a donation to the library to help it continue its top-notch services. The "unofficial" library webpage is: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arjackso/lib_info.htm . Thanks so much for your time, Mark Williamson, Memphis, TN ARJACKSO listkeeper [email protected]
