This is the first update of 2004 for Mohave County AZGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/index.htm . New to Mohave County AZGenWeb is the beginning pages of the 1905 Mohave and Chimehuevi Indian Census http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/1905_ftmohave_census.htm . The first four pages have been transcribed and are now on line. When this database is finished it will contain over 3000 individuals. This census lists both the Indian name as well as the English name for each individual. Some of the lines are a bit difficult to read so if you find a name that is miss spelled PLEASE email me the correct spelling, I am especially interested in making sure the Indian name is spelled correctly. So please email me with the correct spelling if you find a error. New to our Mohave County is the Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens Cemetery Index. This cemetery was indexed by Jay Sylvester for his Eagle Scout Project. Please visit Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens Cemetery and to learn more about this wonderful young man and his project. This project is arranged alphabetically by given name at this time. http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/lake_havasu_memorial_gardens.htm . I hope you will all take time to visit the Mohave County Gravestone Photo Project http://arizonagravestones.org/index.php/cid_9 and while you are there please take the time to submit photos of your family Gravestones. Please take time to stop by Mohave County AZGenWeb for a visit, we have something for everyone. Until next time .... Have a Great Day! Constance

They stated they had no record of her death, however, I didn't try the probate courts. Will try that next. Soc. Sec. record indicates her last residence as L.A. but her death was in Arizona (no town or county noted). Arizona is a closed state for the record I'm trying to locate but they will search if I can prove a kinship. I may have to do as they request. Thanks again.

The problem with Los Angeles obituaries is that the newspaper there does not have adequate space to publish an obituary notice for every citizen (such a large population), so you will need to try alternate methods to get information. Check with the probate courts for Los Angeles to see if she has a last will and testament on file which would contain names and addresses of family members. Why did you think she may have died in Arizona--have you received reliable information about that or had you just heard a rumor? keith345@hotmail.com
