Mr grandmother family emigrated to USA in the early 1900's. Name Devitt, there were quite a few of them and Hugh and William I found on the Ellis Island site. The son of Moses Cluff and Ann Bond. He married Sarah Ann Weech, 4 JUL 1885 Pima,Graham,Arizona. I have had trouble finding him in census'. In 1880, he seems to be in Walker, Apache, Arizona, listed as a boarder in the household of Eliza Cluff who is 30 and a widow born in England, he is listed as age 16 and as a laborer. The previous House hold is of Moses Cluff age 52 and Rebecca age 45. Where is Ann (his mother)? in 1870, I can find Moses Cluff listed as 40, with Rebecca 40, Eliza 29 and 5 children, however Heber is not listed with them, nor is Ann, and I can't find them. Then in 1860, I again find Moses age 28, with Rebecca 26, Ann 19 and Jane 19, and of course Heber is not listed, for he is not born. I can't find Heber or Sarah in 1900, but do find who may be Sarah Ann, but listed as Hattie who is 41, married 24 years and having 9 children with 7 living, giving her place of birth as Utah and parents as England. In the household is Vida 18, Cyril B. 16, Ellen 13, Waldo 9, Mincho 6, all born in Utah and then Lola 2 and Carmen 1 born in Mexico. Where is Heber, in Mexico? How is he listed, I can't find him. If anyone can help me locate him, in 1870 on (excluding 1880). I would be thankful, just ideas would be great! Thank You! Sheila

John William Frost married Rose Elizabeth Head in 1970 in Arizona. Rose was born Aug 1947, Ajo AZ. John William's father, John Jacob Frost, was b1877 in MS, raised in Arkansas, died 1958 in Arizona. His 3rd wife, Alice, is thought to have been an Indian. I have no other info on her, but a lot of info on the Frost line. John Jacob was my grandmother's Uncle. His sister Meddy Cora Frost married Thomas William Jobe, brother to John Jacob's second wife Melvinia Morton (Jobe) Frost. Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3U.2ADE/1521 Message Board Post: The Sun, San Bernardino, CA - October 14, 2004 TONY RAMOS was the happiest when he was surrounded by family, and fortunately for him, the large number of relatives he had virtually guaranteed a permanent smile on his face. “He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and just all-around great guy,” said his granddaughter, Melissa Karper. “He just loved spending time with his family, and we loved spending time with him.” Ramos, a longtime resident of San Bernardino, died of cancer on Wednesday at his home. He was 76. He was born June 9, 1928, in Arizona and moved to Southern California with his family in 1936. Shortly after he turned 18, he enlisted in the military and became a light truck driver. He earned the World War II Victory medal. He worked at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino and Kaiser Steel Corporation in Fontana. He worked for San Bernardino County for 35 years and was the refuse supervisor. He led a number of the city’s softball teams to victory. ”He was an extremely good softball player,” Karper said. “He played center field, shortstop, pitcher or basically anywhere they needed him to play. He could do it all. Ramos was president of San Bernardino Eagles Club 506, and organized and participated in numerous charitable events. He enjoyed camping and fishing and made frequent trips to Lake Gregory and Big Bear Lake. Ramos also enjoyed dancing. Other survivors include his wife, Josephine of San Bernardino; three daughters, Caroline Walton of Highland, CA, Sarah Bunten of Lake View, Oregon, and Bernadine Delaney of Portland, Ore.; a son, Tony Cano of San Bernardino; two brothers, Fernando Cano of Oceanside, CA and Frankie Cano of Rialto, CA; a sister, Margaret Payan of Ontario, CA; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services are pending at Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery. Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368.
