    1. Post-1901 Census Notes to Minister Emerson
    2. Muriel M. Davidson
    3. This message may be forwarded -- Bill S-18 would release 1911 to 2001 records automatically at 10-year periods. The note to the Hon. David Emerson need only be a few words, but your name, city and province/state should be included -- to let him know people from many areas want the census records opened. Muriel M. Davidson muriel_davidson@sympatico.ca Co-Chair, Canada Census Committee Brampton, ON ============ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul, Jeff: SEN" <PAULJ@SEN.PARL.GC.CA> To: <CANADA-CENSUS-CAMPAIGN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, December 08, 2004 2:25 PM Subject: [CCC] Notes to Minister Emerson Hello there everyone: Further to our ongoing campaign to pass bill S-18, I would like to ask each and every one of you to write to Minister Emerson to urge him to take whatever steps are necessary to have the bill get through the Senate as soon as possible. You may want to word it as a Christmas wish, or however you like. However he should be made aware of the significant interest that there is across Canada to have this bill passed as soon as possible. Minister Emerson's email addresses are: emerson.david@ic.gc.ca Or emersd@parl.gc.ca I would hope that as many letters as possible could get to Minister Emerson very quickly. 1. Bill S-18 Needs Assistance of Our American Friends for 1911 Census
    2. Muriel M. Davidson
    3. To all:- The Non-Resident petitions, bearing signatures, are very important at this stage of Bill S-18 going through the Senate of Canada. All Non-Resident petitions may be used after or for the Second Reading. Many have been received to date -- this information is being sent to states where I am personally researching or where I have family members. The Non-Resident petition is downloadable from http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/index.htm My name and address are there -- only used in the Senate. The complete address need not be given -- street address not needed -- but NAME, CITY, STATE, ZIP CODE Both Pages 1 and 2 are needed -- if one has signatures on Page 2. We have recommended the Canadian census release problems as a school topic for those in high school -- with petitions. There is sufficient information to complete a project. Looking forward to receiving petitions and for those in Maine, yes, I know how to pronounce Penebscot -- my mother was born in Bucksport, Maine! Canadians enjoying warmer climes in Florida or Arizona and with property in Canada, may use House of Commons, Senate or Non-Resident petitions. Attach a sticky note letting me know the Canadian address, plus the vacationing one. Much more information is available -- I will answer all questions. Muriel M. Died in Cochise county, Douglas, Az. Died Aug. 9, 1947. He was 83 years old. The death certificate also says he was single. That doesn't mean he couldn't have been married at sometine in his life. My sister-in-law says he was in some law inforcement, like Rangers or FBI. I don't have any proof of any of that. I wrote to someone in Douglas asking if that could be looked up somewhere--no answer there. The death certificate I got from: http://genealogy.az.gov/search.asp. I was also sent the web site http://genealogy.az.gov/ I would like to know about his family and his life. I haven't found any trace of the other brothers that were in Arizona. I hope this helps you. Thanks for the interest. Irene

    1. Mining HIstory Expert?
    2. Trisha Neal
    3. I have posted this query before, but never heard from anyone so thought I would try again. I am searching for information on Anna E. Durkee who was, apparently from news stories, a well-known mining woman in Arizona mining. I have info that she was involved in the Dardenelles Mining Group and the Tungsten Girl mine. This would have been 1914-192? or 1930s. I have reviewed info from earlier research and was reminded from notes that she may have been involved in mining in Arizona much earlier than that...about 1907 or 1908. A claim filed in Wrangell, Alaska was to have been operated by a corporation to be formed under Arizona Law. Is there someone on the list that is knowledegable about mining in the Kingman, Az area or just in Arizona? I would really appreciate your assistance in my quest to find Anna. Thanks! I haven't found all of them. I got the death certificate of the son Grant Boles Estes. He died in Phoenix, Az. Albert S. was in Douglas, Az. in 1929.
