Good Morning, I am curious to know what you mean by "the Arizona Strip". Are you possibly discussing Arizona County, which existed 1860 - 1862 as part of the New Mexico Territory? I was watching KNBC4 (Los Angeles) last evening about the fires and the they were interviewing a group of firefighters ... All of those being interviewed were from Bullhead City Fire Department. They looked and sounded exhausted! Tonight I saw groups of firefighters from Maricopa Co. and Tucson. I hope you will all keep them and all of the firefighters working to save the people and their homes in Southern California, in your prayers. Constance

They came from Cornwall, England to he USA in 1903. They went to Houghton co. MI and from there??? Annie Best died of tubeculosis, so possibly they came to AZ for her health. They may have left MI in 1913 when the big mining strikes where making miners seek work elsewhere. Is there a place I can contact to see if Harry Best died in a strike or mining accident here in Az. Mohave County AZGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/index.htm continues to grow, with several new data pages, updated pages, and two new projects. The two new projects: 1. The AZGenWeb Gravestone Photograph Project. Just waiting for your photos to be added to it! http://arizonagravestones.org/index.php/cid_9 . You can scan your La Paz County cemetery photos and upload them yourself or you can send them to me and I will upload them for you. 2. Tha LaPaz County Old Newspaper Abstracts. http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/arizona/mohave/index.shtml To submit a newspaper article to this project is very easy. The only requirement for now is the newspaper articles need to be prior to 1930. So if your local newspaper began publication prior to 1930, it would be great to have articles and news stories of the day about communities in Mohave County submitted. New and Updated data pages added to Mohave County http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/index.htm : ~ Updated Death Registers 1887 -1899 http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/deaths.htm ~ Updated Birth Registers 1887 -1899 http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/births87_99.htm ~ New Mortality Schedules 1870 http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/mortality1870.htm ~ New Mortality Schedules 1880 http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/mortality1880.htm ~New Van Marter, Surnames "N" and "V" http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/vanmartern_v.htm ~ Updated Selective Service Cards, Surnames "N" http://www.rootsweb.com/~azmohave/drn.htm I hope you will stop by Mohave County and take a tour of our Great county!
