I am trying to help a lady who is asking about George W. Taylor born June 22, 1852 at Izard, Co., died at Sage, AR OCt. 10, 1919 and Niecie E. Battles married May 7, 1856 Sharp Co., AR who married July 30, 1883 in Sharp Co. & she died at Evening ShadeTheir son was William F. Taylor born Ap. 30, 1886 William F. Taylor was born Ap. 30, 1886 at Battles, AR (Sharp Co.) his wife C. Carpenter was born Ap. 1, 1887 at Zion, AR This leads me to think their records would be mostly in Izard Co. since I don't find them here. She believes Niecie & George married in Sharp County, but I have searched the marriage book and earliest Sharp Co. record newspaper abstracts for their names and there is none. Who might help me with this in Izard County? I would be glad to send any thoughts you might have to this lady. Have you ever heard of the place called Battles, AR Thanks Do you know if there is a marriage book for Izard County we could purchase in the future? Bobbie

Hi Bobbie, You'll probably get some better results tomorrow.... I ran a quick check in Ancestry. I found a W F Taylor at age 21, b about 1886 living in Zion, Izard County married Delia Carpenter who was 18 also living in Zion with a marriage date of 30 Jun 1907 in Izard County. And, a G W Battles b abt 1859, 26 yrs old, living in Bawen Fork (Bawen?) Izard County married Annie M Lindley, age 21 from LaCrosse, Izard County, on 20 Jan 1885 IN SHARP COUNTY.
