Hi Leeann, I think your Daniel Jones may be part of my Hotchkiss family. If I recall correctly, it was through Matilda Hotchkiss who married a Jones.  There is a DAR application which was approved about l955 by some of their descendants.  I am from Matilda's brother, Eli Cleveland Hotchkiss born l829 in Roane Co., TN.  Sue
