Visitation for Fred Norman Blankenship will be Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at Eddies's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. A World War Two veteran of the United States Army, Fred Norman Blankenship was the owner and pharmacist of Blankenship Drug from 1950 until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Lions Club, Melbourne Masonic Lodge, Izard County Historical Society and Melbourne First Baptist Church. Fred Norman Blankenship is survived locally by his wife of 70 years, Elsie of the home; son Jerry Blankenship and daughter Ann Moser both of Melbourne; two of five brothers Newt Blankenship of Melbourne and Carl Blankenship of Calico Rock; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
