Ross obitMinnie Campbell-Ross By The Wenatchee World Staff Thursday, September 13, 2012 Minnie Campbell-Ross August 27, 1919 ~ September 11, 2012 Our beloved Minnie entered into rest September 11, 2012, at Central Washington Hospital with family by her side. She was born August 27, 1919, the eighth of nine children, to Leslie and Annie Estes Cooper at Calico Rock, AR. She received her early schooling there, and moved to Washington with her father and sisters to begin a new life with her older brothers, who were already there. On September 18, 1939, she married Cecil Campbell in East Wenatchee and together they worked in various orchards and warehouses, including Bardins and Washington Fruit Growers. Mr. Campbell passed away in May 1992, following 51 years of marriage. On November 5, 1994, she married Bill Ross of Wenatchee and they spent the next year traveling, until Bill's untimely death in 1995. Minnie will always be known for her beautiful crocheting, gardening, cooking and especially for her awesome hugs. She had the amazing gift of making everyone feel special, and always saw good in them. She was a member of Wenatchee Valley Baptist Church for many years. She often said she felt Jesus by her side at all times. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elmer, Nick and Jack Cooper; and sisters, Audie Jones, Dulcie Sherrell, Lola Cooper, Charby Cooper and Lois Hasting. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, including Shirley Pate, Dorla Tritle and Susan Hastings; special friends, Alan and Joanie Hunter; and her precious little Schnauzer, "Arnold." Celebration of her Life Service will be held Friday, September 14, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Jones & Jones~Betts Memorial Chapel in Wenatchee. Interment to follow at Wenatchee City Cemetery.
