Isn't there also a town named Mayfield in Washington Co., AR or close to the county line with (what would that be? Marion? I remember noticing a new road sign on 412 outside of Springdale, AR. I don't recall which side of the lake it is on. -----Original Message----- From: arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Sandy Grise Sent: Monday, December 30, 2013 5:59 AM To: arizard@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] Location of Mayfield Cemetery? Hi Beth, Yes, there was a large branch of Mayfields who moved to Washington County, AR. I have not connected them to my line (yet). It is believed that most of the Mayfields in America descended from the immigrant, Robert Mayfield who came to America in the 1600's. Because I know none of my direct line moved there, I have collected data from time to time, but only for future references. All of my Mayfields moved to the Izard County area, and Baxter County. Actually, a place called Dolph. They came as one family from Washington County, TN. I have been able to track many of my great-grandfather's children, but not all of them. Actually, there are Mayfields here in Cobb County, GA who migrated to the Batesville, Independence County, AR area, again another line, not mine. And, there were other Mayfields over on the other side of Roswell, GA and a road named for them, from yet another line. If I ever could connect them all, it would be an amazing feat!
