Everyone, I barely got out of the driveway at Calico Rock on Sunday morning about 10 minutes after eleven. I had almost waited too late to start back to Little Rock. Literally, I had never seen (that I remember) Sleet covering the ground completely as if it were snow. It was bizarre, with lightening popping and thunder booming. Thank goodness, I had 4 wheel drive and I went into that just before the bridge at Piney Creek, as I would have never made it up the opposite hill. Needless to say it was a long trip, took me over an hour to get to Melbourne but then very surprisingly beyond Mt. Pleasant and then just about Cushman, the sleet turned to rain. The rain was with me all the way to Little Rock and at times, there were more cars pulled over than there were traveling on the road but I did choose not to stop and just kept plodding along. I think it was about 3PM when I finally arrived at the back door to unload the animals in the massive downpour that had just arrived as well. It was a memorial trip but very courteous drivers everywhere and really not anyone being really stupid, so I was quite amazed. There were very few people out between Calico and Melbourne, they had all gotten their stuff done earlier before the sleet started. I was really blessed to have gotten on the road when I did, as I had thought the weather was changing much later. Will be checking more often next time! Then, later on Sunday afternoon I had walked into the kitchen and heard something hitting the windows, it was sleet here as well. We got about an inch on everything and of course, it froze harder that night. Not much moved very quickly yesterday and today only those that had offices and businesses open today went out. It's still very cold and there is nothing melting at all yet. Hopefully, it will warm up once the sun comes out here. You all be safe! Beth
