    3. Jack, thank you for sharing! I have been so happy with Missouri, as a whole. Lawrence and Christian Counties have put so much stuff up on the web to help genealogists. And, once, I wrote to the Secretary of State about records from an orphanage which had closed, and he responded by sending me all the correspondence that had been sent to my aunt by my grandmother. Sadly, the orphanage chose not to let her have them as a child, and by the time she got out, her mother was dead. BUT, the state was so helpful, and I could never get over their kindness. They even told me where my great-grandmother was buried on the State Hospital grounds.
