    3. I had heard from a home health nurse that's at Ozark Folk Center a lot that there is one guy who is from way up north that is in real estate that has promoted and gotten that show going. Guess the Discovery Channel doesn't know any different? She heard he had come up with the story from listening to folks talk in the area and wrote the bogus story. I didn't know that it was already on. How embarrassing for Hardy, huh? Wonder if this was the city slicker or the local? Have a clue? I couldn't get the thread to work yet -----Original Message----- From: arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Billie Walsh Sent: Thursday, March 20, 2014 2:19 PM To: arizard@rootsweb.com Subject: [ARIZARD] Clash in the Ozarks - redux HARDY, Arkansas - An Arkansas man featured on "Clash of the Ozarks" has pleaded guilty to a federal gun charge. Kerry Wayne Evans of Hardy pleaded guilty to this week to illegally possessing an unregistered machine gun. Evans appears on Discovery Channel's reality show "Clash of the Ozarks," which highlights two feuding families in the Arkansas town of Hardy. http://www.therepublic.com/w/AR--Ozarks-Show-Gun-Charge -- A cat is a puzzle with no solution. 3. I've only watched a couple episodes. I kind of have mixed feelings about the show. On one hand I see deep feelings of family, even extended family, the connection to the land and the sense of honor that one associates with the people of the Ozarks. On the other hand it's almost like it's happening a hundred years ago rather than "now". The last time I was in Hardy I didn't find anyone quite as .......... I hate to say backwards but that does kind of describe it. I believe all the people involved are native to Hardy, or at least that area. Evans is the "bad guy". He is buying up land at low price and dividing it to sell to "flat landers". It's all about getting money and as much as possible. No respect for traditions. I don't know if its a true story or not. 3. A guy I know saw Kerry Wayne Evans , the bad guy, at a funeral around Hardy last week and was talking to him about the show and Kerry Wayne, said it is all made up and Crowbar Russell's land had been paid for since the 1960's. Remember this is a reality show without the reality, only real local people with a made up script!! We watch it and enjoy seeing the familiar scenery, I think it will help Hardy more than it will hurt. The recent news release on the sub machine gun of Kerry Wayne could have been a made up thing too, just to get more interest in the show. A few years back Crowbar Russell had a fishing show on Kait Channel 8 in Jonesboro. On Thu, Mar 20, 2014 at 10:47 PM, Billie Walsh <bilwalsh@swbell.net> wrote: > I've only watched a couple episodes. 3. I'm glad to know that. There's "reality" and then there's "REALITY". If they had staged it 150 years ago I could see it happening On 03/22/2014 11:10 AM, jack helm wrote: > A guy I know saw Kerry Wayne Evans , the bad guy, at a funeral around Hardy > last week and was talking to him about the show and Kerry Wayne, said it is > all made up and Crowbar Russell's land had been paid for since the 1960's. > Remember this is a reality show without the reality, only real local people > with a made up script!!
