Elsie Mae Harris Post a commentPrint By The Wenatchee World Staff Thursday, October 7, 2010 Elsie Mae Harris, age 96, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010, in Cashmere, WA. She was born to Lon and Maude Smith on May 26, 1914, in Union, AR, where she grew up and attended school at Mt. Pleasant, AR. She then came to Washington in 1950, and worked in the orchards and cannery. Later, she went to work for Highline Convalescent Center as a Nurse's Aid for 27 years, from which she retired. She attended a Baptist Church in Arkansas. She married Cy Harris in September of 1971. She was a good hearted person and always tried to help everyone. Everybody's kids were her kids! She raised her great-great-nieces (triplets) and their sister. She'll be missed very much. ~ We love you, The Family She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975; six brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by one niece, Glenda (James) Scott of Wenatchee; and three nephews, Eugene (Catherine) Smith of Phoenix, AZ and Jerry (Donna) Smith and Terry Smith, all of Wenatchee. Services of Commemoration will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2010, at Jones & Jones~Betts Memorial Chapel in Wenatchee, WA, with Interment following at Wenatchee City Cemetery.
