    3. Hi, I've been looking at the Montgomery family. My gr grandmother was Elizabeth Montgomery b. 1843 d. 1927. daughter of John Montgomery b. 1819-d1907 and Mary Selena Ferguson b. 1815 d. 1892. Elizabeth m. James Gault b. 1841 d. 1921. My question is how does John Patrick Montgomery b.1857-d.1939, fit into the other Montgomery family or does he fit at all??? I never cease to be amazed at how often we see connections to families that we did not expect. I was looking at the Bell family that was discused last week, thinking that I didn't have any connection to this family. Then I saw the 2 husband of Becky Bell was John Ferguson Montgomery, a brother to my gr grandmother Elizabeth. There were two other people that I saw, not related to, but knew the families. That is how I began to look at the Montgomerys again. Myrlene

    3. Myrlene, Marsha Boles sent a copy of your e-mail in which you said, "When I was growing up, 1937-1949, the church was no longer active and my gr. uncle and aunt lived in the old church. Their names were William Orr Gault and Ella Redman Gault." MYRLENE and ROGER, My ancestor Laura Ann (Jones) Montgomery married first William Franklin Montgomery (aka Dock Montgomery), who died during the Civil War, and second Lafayette Redman/Redmon. William Franklin Montgomery and his brothers wrote the Hames - Montgomery letters that are transcribed on http://www.couchgenweb.com/arkansas/izard/hames-montltrs.html. In the 1900 Jefferson Township, Izard County, Arkansas (AR) federal census, Laura is shown as the mother-in-law of William O. Gault. That would most likely mean that Ella M. Redman/Redmon (b. Nov. 1873) was her daughter. That would make Ella M. (Redman/Redmon) Gault the half sister of my Leona Bernice Montgomery who married John Wesley Boler. Ella's daughter Audie O. Gault would be the half niece of Leona. Also in the 1900 Violet Hill Township, Izard County, AR federal census is Octavy/Octavia (Montgomery) Gaston (b. July 1852), sister to my Leona and half sister to Ella. That would make Claud, Ollie, Vance, and Eldy all nephews/nieces of Leona and half nephews/nieces of Ella. The Hightowers are also involved with this Gault family. I would love to learn when she died and where she is buried. She is not in the 1910 federal census, unless the transcriber mistranscribed her or I missed seeing her there.
