I put two feeders (with suction cups) on each side - there would be twenty-thirty birds at once and they continually fight each other and if one set too long the others would peck his head until he left! Being right there on the window, you could see them REAL close without being in their way. You could watch their throats move as they swallow their sugar water, needless to say, I used a lot of sugar, but they are so beautiful to watch. I named the males "terminators" and the females "nervous nellies". They would swarm early in the morning and just before dark. Facinating birds. I have moved to Oklahoma City and have only one feeder and have seen just eight hummers, guess I need to get another feeder. This one just holds a cup, but I fill it every day. That way more than one male can have a feeder. If you have some pine trees that's the best place to put them. The small branches/needles are just right for humming bird feet to perch on. Before we got our new house there was a pine tree right outside the bedroom window and I had a feeder there. The male would roost for hours right beside the feeder guarding it from other males. If I let the feeder get a little to low he would buzz me whenever I went outdoors to let me know. Little devil would get right in my face. I guess he wasn't getting enough dates when it got low.
