He was born on July > 20, 1940, at Melbourne, AR to the late Woodrow and Violet (Hall) Vines. He > moved to Washington State as a youngster with his parents and sister. Leon > was schooled in East Wenatchee and enjoyed lunches with his former > classmates. He was married for 30 years to Jo Ruth Trotter of Cashmere and > from this union came a daughter, Lisa. Leon worked in the Ingot Plant at > Alcoa Wenatchee Works for over 33 years before retiring. Following his > retirement, he moved to Selah and married again, to Barbara Dorrel. She > preceded him in death in November of 2005. Leon returned to make his home > in Wenatchee in 2006, and met Betty Purdom, while they were visiting their > mothers at Blossom Valley. Betty and Leon enjoyed many laughs together. > > Leon is survived by his special companion, Betty Purdom of Wenatchee; his > daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Russ Ogle and his grandson, Brett Ogle, > all of Wenatchee; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Debbie Vines of > East Wenatchee and their children, Josh, Meaghan, Troy and Baby Kaiden; > his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Darrel Patrick of Kirkland and > their children, Jill (Bill) Perkins, Ryan (Tina) Patrick and Aiden and > Quinn Patrick; and of course, his Boston Terrier, JR.
