Source: e-mail Darline (dtracy1124@aol.com) Descendants of Cullen Porter Hodges Calico Rock Progress, Calico Rock, AR Jul 12, 1929 - Oldest resident of County Dies at Melbourne Aunt Levina Hodge, no doubt the oldest resident of Izard County died at Melbourne at a late hour last Tuesday, at the advanced age of 98 years. Burial took place at Larkin Wednesday afternoon, funeral services being conducted by Rev. J. W. Gardner of Melbourne. Deceased was born in Tennessee Jan 13, 1831 and as a child came to Arkansas, locating with the family in Stone County and after her marriage to Porter Hodge she moved to this county, where she spent the remainder of her life. Mrs Hodge had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years and was a strict devotee to the teachings of Christianity. She is survived by seven grown children, Frank Hodge, in Mexico; Sam of Larkin; Joe of Maud, Okla.; Mrs Taylor and Mrs Price of Texas; Mrs Angie Hodge of Melbourne; a sister, Mrs Mary Decker.
