    3. Something I thought I would share. Don't remember if I did before. I'm trying to clean out my date file. Batesville Guard Published on Friday June 8, 2007 MELBOURNE — Cornelia Catherine Elizabeth Shoemaker, 88, of Melbourne died Tuesday, June 5, 2007, in a Batesville hospital. Born Sept. 6, 1918, in Oxford, she was the daughter of Elbert Elmon and Mary Catherine Simmons Yancey. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, James “Bud” Shoemaker; three sons, Kenneth Roddy and Winston Roddy, both of Brockwell, and Gail Roddy of Yakima, Wash.; four daughters, Shirley Stevens of Wichita, Kan., Melvalea Kendrick of North Little Rock, Donna Smith of Joplin, Mo., and Kathy Phipps of Hickory Ridge; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Marvin Roddy; two brothers, Ezra Yancey and Marvin Yancey; two sisters, Ozzie Owens and Eva Estes; and a granddaughter, Susan Haynes. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne with S.D. Hacker officiating. Burial will be in Melbourne Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Yancey, Darrell Owens, Dean Phipps, Dan Barger, Logan Phipps and Scott Phipps.
