Melbourne Times Jan 6, 1933 - Mrs Kate Wiles Dead Mrs Kate Wiles aged 55 died at her home here Thursday afternoon following an illness of paralysis extending an over a period of abut three months. She had been in poor health for a year or more. She is survived by eight children: Sidney Wiles of Mansfield, Texas, Melvin of Arkadelphia, Oram, Floyd and Estel of Zion, and Coy, Thelma and Zelta of Melbourne. She is also survived by four brothers, G. H. and W. R. Miller of Melbourne, Sam Miller of Cushing, Oklahoma and Oscar Miller of Zion and by a sister, Mrs Nancy Brown of Sage. Funeral arrangements had not been completed this afternoon but will probably be held at the Zion Hill Cemetery near Zion. Smith Word was received here on the death of Mrs Melvin Wiles of Fort Smith. Mrs Wiles passed away there Sunday afternoon. Mrs Wiles was formerly Tina Taylor. Calico Rock Progress Dec 23, 1938 - Hit by Falling Tree Dies of Injuries George Washington Wiles, 68, of Stuart, Sharp County, died at a Hardy hospital Monday night from shock and internal injuries suffered when a tree fell on him Monday morning while he was in the woods felling timber. He is survived by his wife, six sons and two daughters. ============== Aug 15, 1947 - Accident Fatal For Sharp County Girl Miss Emma Wiles, aged 23, of Sidney, Sharp County, a student pilot, was killed when she, fell from the wing of a plane into a whirling propeller at an air field in Springfield, Mo., Saturday afternoon. Miss Wiles and a twin sister served in the Waves during the war. They went to Springfield about a year ago and after completing courses at a business college secured positions as secretaries. Deceased was a daughter of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Wilkes of Sidney. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Sidney.
