Marsha, the names that I checked, W.A.Gault s/b William A. Gault. The Dr James Cooper is a question for me. As far as I know he was not a doctor. . His father was a doctor, d. 1807, we have his will that says his medical insturments be sold at public auction. I think, for what its worth, that the James H. b.1798 d. 1869, in the church records was called Doc, and his grandson James H. b. 1872 was always called Doc. This may not be inportant any way. Thanks for all the time you have put into this. Myrlene
Myrlene, Is this the church you told me that would have been in behind where the Todd's lived, on the North Side of Horseshoe Bend or was that a different church? If so that area would have been in Fulton Co between 1842 and 1874 and in Izard Co from 1825 until then and then afterward in Izard Co. Would it have had a connection to Wheeling. Wheeling is just south of Salem on Hwy 9. Even thought I didn't know a lot of the names I looking forward to ready this record. Thanks to all for getting it on for us to read. Hi Myrlene...I am very interested in the Cooper you mentioned... Do you have anything else on Coopers? We have just added a Thomas Cooper to our DNA listing that we have not found a connection to. He married in Lawrence county Ar. in 1857, was born in 1835 in Tn. died in Arkansas in 1884. Does the Will of Dr. James Cooper mention his sons, grandsons?? Any help appricated... I have lots of family history, especially Cooper, Nisbett/Nesbit, Roberts, some McLain, Montgomery, Gault, Ferguson, Moffatt, Paden, etc. You are possibly referring to James Hemphill Cooper, 1798-1869 buried in Harmony Cemetery. The family had settled in Mississippi, suffered malaria, his older children and their families went to Texas, and he and the younger ones settled in Izard/Fulton county. His daughter Frances C Cooper 1944-1867 married Joseph Calvin Nisbett 1831-1899 and they were the parents of William Henderson Nisbett and James Hemphill Cooper Nisbett. More whn I get back.......... -----Original Message----- From: arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Myrlene Hastings Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2010 8:34 PM To: ARIZARD-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ARIZARD] Names-Marsha Marsha, the names that I checked, W.A.Gault s/b William A.
