My daughter, Denise got back from Israel alright, but worn out from the 24 hour flight back. She said it was wonderful, and she has so many happy memories. Asked her about the fire they had over there--she said it was over on Mt. Carmel, and they went there the first day they were there--so they missed it. She said the only thing that happened was when they went to the Temple Mount, there had been some shooting about 6 minutes before they got there. But she said on the whole, she felt safe as could be. Just wondering, haven't heard anything from Betty Mc and Jim S. lately---are you guys still out there? Vera, did you ever get an orbit for Betty"s bro, Bob---I don't remember seeing it, but who knows with me. The cold weather has finally hit OK.--had to dig out my sweats to get warmed up! Guess I better go check and see what I can find out new about those long-lost relatives! Glenna Goodwin
Hi, Glenna! Glad to know your daughter is home from her wonderful trip. One of my nieces, Dianne, goes to Israel at least once a year. Some years ago they learned her husband had Jewish ancestry a couple generations back, and they embraced the religion and practice it. After 9/11 I made some cautionary remarks about world travel and she said God had already determined when and where she would die. I ran that by one of my Baptist friends and she said my niece was right about that. So, from then on, I've "supported" her choices. During a visit with her a couple years ago, she said "who cares" about our genealogy. I backed her up, and reminded her that I am not negative about what she chooses to do -- and I don't appreciate her being negative about what I do. So, no more disparaging remarks. My son Barry has lived in Japan since 1988 after graduating from the University of Tulsa. He went there to teach "English" to adolescent Japanese children. I had friends in the work place who would tell me, "There's going to be an earthquake there -- you need to tell him to come home." I didn't see it that way. I believed it was his choice. I always believed our children "are loaned" to us. Barry has obtained his Master's and Ph.D (from Columbia University of NY in Tokyo) and is a professor in a Japanese university. So, Glenna, glad for your daughter and glad for you that she's safe and sound -- and had a good time! Have a great day and stay warm. Good for you Peggy - Bravo! I have worked all shifts in nursing and been out at all hours of the day and night - it's all in God's hands. Now I live with my mother and she thinks I am being rude to her by not getting my stuff done and getting home by dark. Did you notice it was dark an 5 PM ? ? ? Next time mom needs a transfusion, I want her to get a unit of blood you donated! Marsha PS - glad Glenna daughter had a good time in Israel too. --- On Wed, 12/8/10, PEGGY TRUESDELL <truesdellp@att.net> wrote: Hi, Glenna!
