If anyone knows more about her, I'd appreciate some info. Some people have crossed the names of the first 2 wives. The second wife was Eva Hawkins. She had a young daughter when they married and she shows up in the 1900 census as a daughter, but Kermit is sure she is a stepdaughter. And, most people know of Ellie (Dunn) Payne with her 2 sons by Payne when she married Russell. Kermit remembers her and seems to have been fond of her. He has a funny story about Eva Hawkins. Mrs. Lillian Russell was born February 2, 1919 in Rodney to Thomas and Nora Ann (Russell) Hively. She married Keith Russell on June 8, 1940 at the Old Galatia Church in Norfork. Mrs. Russell was a mother, homemaker and sales clerk. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Lillian Russell is survived by her husband Keith Russell; son: Jerry Russell (Carol) of Jordan; daughter: Noralyn Green (Don) of Mountain Home; Grandsons: Roger Griffin (Debbie) of Cabot and Eddie Griffin (Becki) of Mountain Home; Great Grandsons: Dylan Griffin ( Emily) of Little Rock, Evan Griffin (Kim) of Jonesboro, Brandon and Blake Griffin of Mountain Home; Sister: Wileen Langston (Nolan) of Jordan; Brother: T.J. So, I printed someone's Moody file from Rootsweb and mailing that and some pictures from Hand to him. I'm finding Russell connections to LOTS of familiar names! I printed that Sarah Russell's page, too, and am sending it to him to see if he knows who she is. You may have it figured out. Sarah was only 22 years old--I thought maybe a daughter but I'll bet you're right, she was probably a wife. The age fits, for sure from marriage at 16 in 1896 and died at 22 in 1902. I noticed there are several unreadable Russell graves there. I wonder if the person who holds the main records for burials might have more names?
