    3. I found this info on Find A Grave. Had a lot more information that the Calico Rock paper. Looks like it came from the Batesville Guard. GUION — Robert Harold "Bobby" Guthrie, 78, of Guion died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010. Born May 24, 1932, in Bandmill, he was the son of Thomas Walter Guthrie and Maud Tomlinson Guthrie. He was united in marriage to VaRue Arnold on Dec. 9, 1952, in Conway. While attending Arkansas State Teacher's College, he was a member of the baseball team. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960, having been stationed in Germany for most of his tour. On returning to Arkansas, he taught at Newport Junior High School and later became the principal. He earned a master's degree from Arkansas State University and then served as superintendent at Tuckerman School District. After nine years there, he served as superintendent at Melbourne School District for nine years. After leaving the school district, he was employed by Arkansas Highway Department as an assistant surveyor, retiring in 1992. Survivors include his wife of 57 years; a son, Robert H. Guthrie Jr. of Melbourne; two daughters, Nancy Pierce of Van Buren and Gaile Guthrie of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Thomas Johnson of Melbourne, Summer Guthrie, Autumn Dale, Savannah Guthrie and Fallon Farris, all of Conway, and Brooke Johnson of North Carolina; three great-granddaughters, Gracie Johnson and Lily Hope Johnson, both of Sage, and Sophie Johnson of North Carolina; a brother, Johnny Guthrie of Batesville; three sisters, Val Blum of Dearborn, Mich., and Shirley Hill and Betty McCollum, both of Melbourne; and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Guthrie; and a sister, Faye Peckham. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Frank Shell and Rob Ernest officiating. Burial was in Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Pallbearers were Danny Taylor, Chris Hill, Doyle McCollum, Wally Guthrie, Paul Womack, Donald Cheatham, Dean Batterton and Danny Simmons. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Taylor, David McCollum, Vernon Stills Jr., Steven Cagle, Paul Seay, Shelby Upton, Lynn Pittman, Dick Williamson, Joe Miles, Glen Hunt, Diane Honey and Laura Guthrie. -Batesville Guard, 11 Oct 2010

    3. Vera: Thanks for putting this on the Izard website. We lost our sister Val Blum (mentioned in Bob's obit) this past Suunday. This has been a "rough" summer; I have lost a brother, a sister, and 3 first cousins.
