    1. [ARIZARD] Thomas J. Gray
    2. Wilma Norton
    3. He could be Thomas Jefferson or Thomas John....cannot be sure of middle name. I found his death certificate on MO site, it says he was the son of Albert Gray born VA and Lara Tuttle born S. Carolina Co., PA. I also found a marriage for an Albert Gray to Loveny Tuttle on 12/25/1825 at Clark, IN. And a 1830 census Charlestown, Clark, IN that seems to be them. 1 male and 1 female 20-29 and 1 male and 1 female under 5. In 1850 Dist. 51, Livingston, MO Laura A. Gray (head) 41 PA Enis T. 21 IN Henry W. 17 IL Laura 15 IL Lutheah 10 IL Thomas 8 IL*********** James 3 MO Evidently Albert and the daughter under 5 are not accounted for. It is possible the daughter married before 1850, but it seems evident Albert has died. No luck find them in 1840 yet. I traced Thomas J. to 1910 and found his death cert. It said he was born July 17, 1843 in Livingston Co. MO and died July 3, 1912 in Gundy Co. MO. He has a memorial at FAG #9060894. He was a Union Soldier in Co. B, 23rd Reg't Inf. Vols. Do any of our Gray researchers know anything about this Albert, born sometime between 1801 and 1810? Wilma

    3. This past year my genealogist cousin in Enid, Oklahoma, passed away. She was THE Garfield County genealogist. She gave me loads of information about my family lines. She had an "office" with nearly floor to ceiling file cabinets full of every kind of record you can imagine. The local genealogical society and her kids went through it and, according to the person I talked to in the society, a lot of it is now "lost" to future researchers. Like many, I have worked hard trying to find missing ancestors and my kids seem to have little to no interest in continuing after I'm gone. My future strategy revolves around the internet. I have a website on Rootsweb/Ancestry Freepages with the tree on it and I'm adding as much research as possible. I wrote to Freepages and asked them what happens when a site goes unused for a long period and was assured that it would remain as long as there is a Rootsweb/Ancestry. I've also been using a site named Wikitree. You add your information in the form of a gedcom. The site generates a "tree" from the gedcom. Then you, and many others, work to merge your tree with other trees with the same ancestors. When ancestors are merged they become shared by the descendants and the eventual goal is to have one world family tree with everyone collaborating together. For good or ill, at least my work will stick around after I'm gone. Perhaps one day one of my ***grandkids will find it an continue it. Maybe a distant cousin. At least it won't just be tossed in the nearest trash bin. 3. Sorry, Wilma, I'm coming late to this dialogue here in the UK, but here's some of what I have... There are Dixons in the Benbrook family tree: John William Dixon (b. 27 May 1813) married Elizabeth Gould Benbrook (b. 17 Dec 1813), but I have no record of the marriage And Rebecca Ann Dixon (b. 11 Feb 1814, Warren, KY) married George Washington Benbrook (b. 24 Dec 1807, Richmond, NC) on 8 Nov 1830 in Allen, KY - they had 12 children I have a little more detail, but you must understand that my focus is on people who bore the surname Benbrook; let me know if you want more. I'm sorry but I don't have any Coopers or Richardsons, but I hope that helps... Howard. 3. Thanks for your contact. I think there might be a typo concerning John Puckett Jr. b. 1650 in Henrico VA. As you show him married March 18, 1891...so pretty sure that is not possible with this person....do you have another date that would fit better? Also can you connect these two John's to a Thomas Puckett b. 1722 in Henrico, VA.? Or a William Puckett Jr.? thanks for your time...Sharyn -----Original Message----- From: arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Marilyn Smith Sent: Tuesday, January 07, 2014 10:43 AM To: arizard@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] PUCKETT Family I have a Puckett in my Lawrence line. 3. I want to thank you all for the quick responses I have had from this group. Unfortunately it looks like I must go to Franklin County and find the COLE family info. to discover what happened to my ggrandfather Marshall David Puckett. He is buried in the Cole Chapel Cemetery in Franklin County, Ark. and I now believe the second name on the gravestone as seen on line in Find A Grave is his son Shelby Puckett who was born in 1873 someplace in Arkansas ...probably Izard...if I am correct Shelby died in 1892 at the age of 19.....so no way to discover what happened to him. Nor what happened to his father. Mary COLE Marshall's wife remarried into the Mosley family and from census info. it looks like the Moseley's and Coles had adjoining farm property and that very possibly Joseph Mosley might have been related to Mary...probably a cousin. So the search goes on....but you have given me a wealth of information about the Pucketts....when I knew so little ...thanks...Sharyn -----Original Message----- From: arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:arizard-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Jean Cuevas Sent: Monday, January 06, 2014 4:41 PM To: arizard@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] PUCKETT Family Hi Sharon! 3. Hi Sharon! Welcome to the list! In looking on line, I found the following list of Pucketts on the Izard County Census for 1900: PUCKET 109 LaCrosse Township PUCKET 13 LaCrosse Township PUCKET 217 Sage Township PUCKETT 133 Violet Hill Township PUCKETT 24 LaCrosse Township This isn't much, but may give you an idea of which townships to look in. The lady working on this site has only accomplished information for Calico Rock and one other place, so far. ================================================================================================ I found this land record on the internet at : http://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Izard_County,_Arkansas#Genealogy_Resources L Name F Name MI Sec No T R Acres Date Warrant Name Remarks PUCKETT LAWRENCE E 25 17N 8W 92.86 1903/04/08 from Izard County, AR GenForum: Looking for PUCKETT info in Izard Co. There was an R.C. or B.C. PUCKETT in Hill Co, TX in 1900 census. He was born 1873 in AR was married to a "Minnie" with one son, Dewey Lee b 1899. I believe that Dewey married a BREWER (not sure of that). I found a Dewey Lee Puckett WW I Draft Reg Card with mother, Minnie, living in Izard Co. I think that this Puckett family is connected with mine, also in Hill Co, TX & AR. Thanks.
