I have Cantrells who later changed the spelling to Cantwell....within the same generation of siblings...no one has explained that?? Anyway...large families that were primarily all over the south to include: Alabama, Carolinas, Arkansas, MO., Texas and Oklahoma....I suspect we would probably have a cross over someplace....My great-grandfather was William Bluford Cantwell...b. 1847 Sebastian Co., d. 1947 in Ada, OK but is buried in Arkansas...yep 100 years old or there about....his father was James Cantrell...b.1819 in Alabama d. 1876 in Arkansas...buried in Washington Cemetery, Ft. Smith, Ark.
