I haven't used IE in almost 12 years. Firefox was released in September of 2002. I've been a Firefox fan ever since. Been using Thunderbird since it's release in July 2003. Billie, I too was a big Firefox and Thunderbird fan until they got a bit unstable and Chrome came out, switched and the rest is history. Now if I could just get my new IPad to talk to my Windows I'd be in seventh heaven. Big learning curve with IPad sometimes wonder why I even have it. Computer Engineer son and computer guru husband can't understand my problem with IPad, they thought it would be so much better than lugging a 4lb LapTop around. Me, I'll take my LT. I have been using google chrome for several years, love it. Internet explorer was always such a pain in the you know where, there was always something. Chrome has so many cool things, its Drive has been a life saver, saves stuff in the cloud so I can access all my notes, to do lists, etc no matter where I am or which computer I am on, (I travel with a lap top but my main computer is a pc). And if you have a gmail account (free) you can have a "hang out" as long as you have a camera in your computer, use it all the time to visit with my Washington kids and what is really cool is having a family get together with all three of my kids at the same time. So as you can tell, I will not miss Explorer. Ellen On Fri, Mar 14, 2014 at 11:06 AM, Billie Walsh <bilwalsh@swbell.net> wrote: > I'm not sure about what Goggle Chrome will be doing. I'm not sure about what Goggle Chrome will be doing. Any idea? I "heard", but have seen nothing official, that in an "update" to XP they will install a nag program telling you that XP is no longer supported and you need to upgrade to Windows 8. On April 9, 2014 XP will continue to work as it did on April 7, with the possible exception of the nag screen. It should keep working for the foreseeable future, unless Microsoft sends down a "kill upgrade". The major antivirus makers will continue to cover virisus's and malware. Hi Everyone! Effective 4/8/l4 Microsoft will no longer support Internet Explorer. Google Chrome will be doing this. Your anti-virus should be giving you some indications of a problem. Don't ignore it! The instructions should appear on your anti-virus on how to do this. If you use internet explorer and have not made the changes, you will be subject to viruses. I tried to download it, but my computer was too old to handle the update so I bought a new one using Windows 7. Since this affects everyone on the list at some point, I felt I should pass on this info. Sue
I have watched a couple of the shows that everyone on the list is complaining about. I personally don't see that it is degrading to anyone. I grew up in a small Izard County town and every person on the show has a counterpart in my town. In fact Crowbar could be my brother-in-law's twin. Admittedly I never knew a person that live in the woods barefoot, but we had our people that were odd or different. As far a the moon shine goes.....it is still down there if you know where to go. I never considered the people in our town as backward and still don't. They were just what they were and far from ignorant. Mary
Hello everyone!! Hopeful you can access my Facebook. now Sorry that happened. Don’t understand why people are so “danged” mean. The weather is really nice here today. I even set on the porch in the swing for a little while. My home” built maid” came over and used my vacuum and did my floors while ago. Getting to be a nursing home around our house any more. See what good girls we have? Take care and God Bless. Love You’ens. Junebug

Jack, thank you for sharing! I have been so happy with Missouri, as a whole. Lawrence and Christian Counties have put so much stuff up on the web to help genealogists. And, once, I wrote to the Secretary of State about records from an orphanage which had closed, and he responded by sending me all the correspondence that had been sent to my aunt by my grandmother. Sadly, the orphanage chose not to let her have them as a child, and by the time she got out, her mother was dead. BUT, the state was so helpful, and I could never get over their kindness. They even told me where my great-grandmother was buried on the State Hospital grounds. Betty, the familysearch.com website is a good site and has lots of information on the states. It is the LDS website. If you have any interest in MO, the MO sec of state also has 1910-1962 death certificates which you can print, http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/ We have found so much information on this site on several lines in both our families. Hope this helps.
