    1. Re: [ARIZARD] Does someone have a James Brownlow Russell?
    2. Harold Blevins
    3. I have James Brownlow Russell in my files, as a result of some research I did on the Muss/Moss families of Izard and Baxter a few years back. One of JBR's daughters, Amanda Jane, married John Adam Muss and that line was tied in somehow with one of my other lines up in that area. I think maybe it was the Powells , because I remember us talking about Kee Jane Powell. Anyway, JB was married to Nancy Caroline Hill and they had a whole slew of kids, some say at least 15. I never tried to run the lines on all of them, because there didn't seem to be any connection at the time. Rootsweb has a few files on them but not a lot of data......Harold B. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Pat Foster" <pjf1946@cox.net> Sent: Monday, October 04, 2010 10:48 PM To: <arizard@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] Does someone have a James Brownlow Russell? > Hi Ina, > I saw your message on the 'Russell' list today. 3. That is is so kool ! ! ! Found really stretched relation to Lyndon Johnson but may have lost in in FTM blunder. Always thought one of the Adams might pan out because they were well saturated in AR and saved bunch of notes. Boy that is a tough bunch to track. They put out a John Quincy Adams to every male child.  Okay, that is a slight exaggeration (but not much). Just a bit jealous . . . Maybe they will come forward in a few days but since you monitor this list (?) you probably have already been in contact with the person I'm trying to recall! I descend from the Matthew Russell line and I'm thinking I was told James Brownlow Russell is not of that immediate lineage? Was searching on ancestry, com for someone and an article of several pages came up.  I scrolled through it and noticed Wiley KING was listed as prisoner in Fulton County.  Naturally, many other names familiar to me.  I would have copied and pasted it, but is lengthy. Note:  This was attached to this person:  John Miller ELLIOTT (1825-1900). I've seen other articles before but this was most comprehensive.  It covers Izrd, Seacy, Marion and Fulton Counties. Just thought someone might have interest. I should mention I do not know of any connection of Wiley KING to mine, except originated in Alabama. Peggy

    3. Took me long enough to reply to your Microsoft Office problem and e-mail. First - email: get a gmail account through Google. forget about MS mail- to may hackers causing bad stuff. Gmail just doesn't have that problem and a much superior Spam block. I just love my gmail account it is FREE just go to google email I even use my google account to make LD phone calls no cost. There is more to gmail and just email. Second- MS Office: Go to open office.org It has every thing MS has plus it will open all your MS stuff. It is a great program the best part is that it is FREE. Anyway check them out (the usual disclaimer applies I am just a happy user ) My old computer died and had to get a new one it came with Vista (I hate it) it also had a home/student office program for 6mos I think, and after that if I wanted to continue to use it I had to pay. Well, that just wasn't going to happen, got my husband & son computer guru's to install the Open Office for me. Watching them do it I thought to myself, "I could have done that my self". I learned about OO from Dick Eastman a nationwide know genealogist through his column. 3. Thanks for the heads up. I also purchased the pkg. for Office/Student when I started to school last year. I also bought the Adobe Photoshop, which isn't anything near my professional version but that was going to cost about $600 to upgrade, so I'm just learning to use the home version. Just got back from town with mom. Went shopping. Now I need my knees fixed. Ha! Have a great day........back to the books. Janice

    3. Vera, Do not find anyone in 1880 Census that I believe is her. Expect the name is misspelled there also. She states her father was born Germany and she was born in Missouri. There are lots of Huhn's in St. Louis in 1880 and that is a common German name. Apparently her middle name was Josephine but I really can't locate a German father with a two or three year old girl that looks like it might be Eva Josephine. 3. Thanks Janice, after only a day or two of Live Mail, I am beginning so see a lot of similarities to Express. There was a "starter' program on the new machine for Word and Excel, but it goes away after a month or two unless you pay them. I had purchased a copy of "Microsoft Office XP Small Business" a few years back and just on a hunch last night, I loaded Word and Excel from that old disc and it worked like a charm. I don't have all the bell and whistles of the newer versions, , but it's much cleaner and easier to use. Since I use it basically for my own records, it's ideal for me. You might want to look at someplace like www.dealnews.com ....They don't actually sell anything, they just put you in touch with the folks who have it for sale and at the very best prices. They are head-quartered here in Huntsville and a friend of mine has a son who works for them. They sometimes have some fantastic bargains on both computers and software at close-out prices.....
