Doris, My grandmother was a Hall from the Iuka, Rodney area. On Oct.10th, we had a Hall marker memorial dedication at the Wayland Arbor for Mary Margaret McDonald Hall who was the Hall matriarch who brought her family from Williamson County Tennessee to Izard County. She died sometime between 1880 and 1890 and her grave was marked only by fieldstones. It was a very special day and we had many Hall descendants there. Note: These KINGs are not my ancestral line, but their descendants married into the SELPH family that lived in Baxter County, and they are related to my BORDERS family in my own KING line. John A. KING, b, 1804, VA, m. Diadama SUTTON, b. 1809. In 1850, they lived in Rutherford County, TN; in 1860, lived in Searcy County, AR; in 1870 lived in Clay County, IL. John A. KING d. abt. 1873 in Jefferson County, IL. Diadama {SUTTON} KING d. 1900 in Baxter County, AR; probably buried at Big Flat. Their children were - KING: Nancy J., b. 1833 James, b. 1834 Sarah Ann, b. 1835 - d. 1904, Baxter County, AR; buried at Big Flat *** see below William, b. 1838 Henry T., b. 1841 Henderson, b. 1843 Martin, b. 1845 Rebecca M., b. 1846 John, b. 1847 Harvey Thomas "H. T.", b. 1853 *** see below Andrew J., b, 1854 John F., b. 1857 ------------------------------ Sarah Ann KING, had dau Louisa Lauvice, b. 1857 (d. 1896) as wife of W. J. RORIE. Others contend she was dau of her second husband G. W. SELPH, who would have only been about twelve at time born. At some point, Vera was helping me and she showed Sarah A. burial record at Big Flat showed name of TOMLINSON as wll as SELPH, and I believe the dau was from this marriage. TOMLINSON may have died in CW. I've not been able to find marriage record or him. So widow Sarah Ann goes to Illinois w/ family and meets George Washington SELPH ( 1843 - 1918) and they marry abt. 1861, per 1900 census. They are living in Big Flat in 1880 and 1900 census. Their children - SELPH: William Harvey (1863-1946) m. Canzada Ellen LUNDY, dau of G. W. LUNDY; and their daughter Arminta "Mintie" SELPH married my BORDERS relative. They are descendants of a double-first cousin of my grandfather, Robert Polk KING - Nancy {KING} BORDERS and husband James Cephas BORDERS. The BORDERS lived at MacPhearson in Baxter County. Nancy KING was daughter of James M. "Buck" KING and Margaret "Peggy" HULSEY who died in Baxter County during the 1890s and are buried in Burnt School House Cemetery. Harvey Thomas "H. T." KING (see bio sketch of H. T. KING, Izard County home page), b. 1853, TN, m 910 Elizabeth Ellen TAYLOR, b. 1853, IL 1872 in White County, IL; they lived in Baxter County, AR (1880C). He was a Minister in bio sketch, ordaine 1881 in Baxter County.. In 1880, they had two daus and three sons. Elizabeth Ellen apparntly died in Baxter County, and he remarried Mary A. LNU and they are living in Missouri in 1900 and 1910. I believe I found him in 1920 in TN, where he married Edith [formerly SLOAN] and he is father of son, age 2, b, 1918. His occupation: Physician - Medical. Much family information from Rev. H. T. KING bio. If descendants of any of these families read this, I would like to hear from them. I monitor the Izard and Baxter County lists. My direct e-mail: truesdellp@att.net Peggy {KING} TRUESDELL
Margaret, this must be my lucky day to hear good things from both you & Betty regarding kinfolks. My mother was Ruby Ersie Hall, daughter of John Cantwell Hall & Oshie Etheridge. My grandpa John hall was son of Wm Jasper Hall & Annie Lancaster. Oshie's mother was Jane Hively Daughter of Daniel Hively, How very ,very interesting. I have alot of kin in Wayland Arbor & Pauls Valley Ok. I was born in Iuka and when I was a 3 week old baby my dad moved us to Ok. to do share-cropping along with my grandpa Hall & Uncle Ance Hall. Thanks for your note......Doris ( Rudine) Jones Jones

I haven't recieved any mail either for the past few days. I just checked my spam box to see if any had went there but no luck, but I did find a couple pieces of other mail, that were important to me about genealogy. Several people at genealogy mentioned that they didn't get their newsletter or meeting reminders. Some went to spam and others who knows. June, I've missed having coffeewith you. I'm having coffee now and you are probably getting ready for lunch/dinner. Have a safe day everyone. It has rained here in Ca. some part of the day for a week now. William Noel Moser died earlier this week in Conway. Visitation is at 9 AM tomorrow (Thursday, Oct 14th) Salem AR Service at 10 AM Burial: Fairview Cem. just outside of Salem. Apparently I am loosing skills and for the life of me can NOT find obit for my Uncle. Feel like there has been a national policy change (or something). Areawide news - nothing Salem News - nothing Horseshoe Bend - nothing Conway - nothing I know some of these papers are weekly and too soon for this obit to be posted. Some require subscription to actually read the paper but they used to have tab for obits. Not even an obituary button to click. There was 2 weeks ago! If anyone else can come up this obit for me I would be grateful. Thanks, Marsha
