Well, I have the first part of things in their new home. Izard County page with link to the pages: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~arizartp/index.html Fulton County page: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~arfulttp/index.html Direct link to the Prosperity Church page: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~arfulttp/prosperity/index.html I still have to convert Marsha's work to HTML and upload but should have that done in a couple days, if I don't get to many interruptions. *<]:oD After that I'll work on getting the images online. Something else that might be of interest to the members of the list. When I was putting together the Fulton County site I found a PDF of the Death Index for Fulton County from 1914 to 1950 that I had downloaded from somewhere and forgot that I had on file. I did a quick conversion and it's on the Fulton County site also. -- "A good moral character is the first essential in a man." George Washington _ _... ..._ _ _._._ ._ ..... ._.. ... .._
June: William Lytle Gaston was Johnnie Sue (Gaston) Dunavin's brother. Could I have a copy? I am still not able to scan a picture, but my copy machine is working now. One thing and then another, but we keep pluggin' don't we! Thanks. Mrylene, I thought that was the church that you said was out behind where the Todd's live. I think thier daugther Rosella Todd Booth is the one that build the new house there. That area would have been in Fulton Co between 1842 and 1874. The Fulton county line came south to Franklin and about a mile north of Violet Hill during that period. I guess I didn't know that Opal was a Gault, learn something new all the time. Okay, I am getting confused now. Where was Prosperity ARPC located? Where was New Hope ARPC located? When I was learning to drive (maybe as early as 10yo around 1960), my Aunt Lois Boles Moser and I had many little adventures. She let me drive the tractor from her house to Humphries Cem. with her propped on the fender of the tractor. We had to go through Day, AR and the road from Day to the cemetery was always horrible because water ran across the road in many places (little tributaries of Strawberry River/Creek) and the tractor would cross anything. Even back then, I didn't see anything that looked like a church, she didn't mention a church. Of course by then it would have been a residence and the development of Horseshoe Bend had not altered the old roads. Still, I figure we were less than a mile from the church (Prosperity ? ) - as the crow flies! Humphries Cem.Fulton Co., AR - latitude: 36.25780, longitude: -91.73720 Wheeling, Fulton Co., AR - latitude 36.32 and longitude -91.863 This Wheeling is much closer to Salem, Fulton Co., AR than to Day, Izard Co.,AR. Wheeling would be between Oxford and Salem - right? So has Wheeling AR moved ? ? ? Both churches would have been a little south and east of current Wheeling - right? Jean............I was browsing the computer and saw where you asked for a roll call. I was so glad to see familiar names. It has been quite a spell since I was "on the list." Had trouble with my computer. Then my husband was in and out of the hospital in Nov. and Dec., and passed away Dec. 30th. My daughters helped me pack things (in fact, I wonder what went with whom! Ha.), and I came back to OK with one of my daughters, in January. Was in the hospital twice with pneumonia, about a month apart. They said I probably hadn't gotten over the pneumonia from the first time. Then I was told I had emphasema. Then had more tests, and said I had a fungus on my lung (sounds good, doesn't it?) and I've been lugging oxygen around, which I am hoping and praying won't be forever. To make this long story shorter..........had to get a new computer, and surprised with things being downloaded that I found the archives! My names I'm still trying to find information on are: Crutchfield, McCart, Webb, Damron. Sincerely, Barbara Higgins
Betty, the way I understand it, the first church organized was at Wheeling, then another one was the New Hope church that was between Day and Wiseman. If you read the first page on the church records that either Marsha or Billie Welsh posted it mentions New Hope church. That was in Fulton I think at that time because some of the census records show Fulton co. You probably don't remember the old road between Day and Wiseman, the church which had been converted to a dwelling house, was off of the road, maybe a quarter of a mile on a dirt road that got very muddy at times. I think the road turned off there where the white house is, there were lots of trees, more that now. That was the old New Hope Church, my mother's uncle Will and his wife aunt Ella Gault lived there them. Opal Harber, Luther Harber's wife, was their daughter. It looks like, from what I can see from the road, that a new house has been built maybe close to where the old one was. Myrlene
I'm always reading, and like some others, lurking!! We've been gone a lot recently so I'm not getting to do much research. I am working on getting all the photos and obits and information that Vera posted to Find A Grave into my Ancestry file. I am anxious to 'publish' but have lots more work to do before I feel ready. I'm wondering if anyone has actually published from their Ancestry files. Maybe 2011 will be more productive for me in regard to my genealogy work--I sure hope so. I did go to Sharp County and post. The previous post told who Flavel and Clarence were. I think it might be a different Marion--if it's mine, he has a wife that Delpha didn't find with 3 more children!! And, we really don't have much info about his first 25-30 years! Thanks, again. Pat Foster Weather currently in the Guthrie, OK area: 47 degrees and rainy.

ARIZARD readers please note that part of the entry at ARSHARP has been gatewayed to the ARSHARP list so you will need to back track to find the original posting on rootsweb.com county boards (not the lists). Thanks, everyone! Glad to be back a few days. Fred married my late husband's first cousin. I knew Flavel Green, I believe he used to be a police officer in Batesville, not sure, been soooooooooooo long ago. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <ARSHARP-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, November 07, 2010 11:47 AM Subject: Re: [ARSHARP] Green and Stephens Families > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: ThomasKer2 > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > >http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.arkansas.counties. sharp/1161.1/mb.ashx >x > > Message Board Post: > > I'm not related to this family. > > 1920 - > Name: Desta Dickerson > Age in 1910: 39 > Estimated birth year: 1871 > Birthplace: Missouri > Relation to Head of House: Wife > Spouse's name: Elmer L Dickerson > Home in 1910: Piney Fork, Sharp, Arkansas > Marital Status: Married 14 yrs > Race: White > Gender: Female > > Elmer L Dickerson 49, IND - shoemaker > Desta Dickerson 39, MO = 2nd marriage, 6 children & 6 living; does not > know where either parent was born [1871] > Maggie Dickerson 12, ARK > Elma Dickerson 9, ARK > Fred Dickerson 4, ARK > Clarence Green 19, ARK = s/son, works on farm > Flavel Green 16, ARK = s/son, works on farm > > > > > 1900 - > Name: Desty M Dickerson > Home in 1900: Piney Fork, Sharp, Arkansas > Age: 30 > Birth Date: Aug 1869 > Birthplace: Missouri > Race: White > Gender: Female > Relationship to Head of House: Wife > Father's Birthplace: Missouri > Mother's Birthplace: Missouri > Mother: number of living children: 5 > Mother: How many children: 6 > Spouse's name: Elmer L Dickerson > Marriage Year: 1896 > Marital Status: Married > Years Married: 4 > Occupation: > > Elmer L Dickerson 40, 5/60 OH - owns shoe & harness shop > Desty M Dickerson 30, 6 children & 5 living > Maggie M Dickerson 2, 7/97 ARK > Elwer E Dickerson 0, 5/00 ARK = dau > Landon Green 12, 11/87 ARK = s/son > Clarence Green 9, 4/91 ARK = s/son > Flavel D Green 7, 10/92 ARK > > > Desta Mona Stephens [b.
