    3. Peggy and Dale, thanks for you input.  I guess we mothers will still worry about our kids no matter how old they get! I definately worry about my son-in-law and grandkids when they go to Mexico 2-3 times a year on mission trips!  This same son-in law also went to Romania on a mission trip, and has traveled all over the world--he says there is no place like the good old USA! The only time he did give us a scare was when 9-11 happened--we knew he was in New York and scheduled to go to Washington D.C that morning--but other than that we knew nothing for a long time.   He did end up being 2-3 blocks from the Pentagon when it was hit!  My other son-in-law does his mission trips here in the U.S.--thank heavens!  by the way, so far we haven't told my hubby about the shooting--he is the real worry wart---but always acts like nothing bothers him! I remember once when we were in Hawaii ,  we talked to a guy who was over there surfing, and we asked him about Israel, and he said you just had to know where not to go!  I really am glad she had the opportunity to go there.  Glenna Goodwin ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: Dale Marr <marrdye@bellsouth.net> To: arizard@rootsweb.com Sent: Wed, December 8, 2010 12:40:20 PM Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] Arizard:off subject > After 9/11 I made some cautionary remarks about world travel and she said God >had already determined when and where she would die. > > I ran that by one of my Baptist friends and she said my niece was right about >that. God KNOWS when and where we'll die, but if you step in front of a speeding bus or jump out of a plane without a parachute YOU are determining when and where you'll die.  There's a difference.  God gave us a brain for a reason.  Not saying going to Israel is dangerous.  Just as when traveling anywhere unfamiliar, if you stay with a group and a guide you should be as safe or safer there as anywhere. > During a visit with her a couple years ago, she said "who cares" about our >genealogy. Glad to know your daughter is home from her wonderful trip. One of my nieces, Dianne, goes to Israel at least once a year. Some years ago they learned her husband had Jewish ancestry a couple generations back, and they embraced the religion and practice it. After 9/11 I made some cautionary remarks about world travel and she said God had already determined when and where she would die. I ran that by one of my Baptist friends and she said my niece was right about that. So, from then on, I've "supported" her choices. During a visit with her a couple years ago, she said "who cares" about our genealogy. I backed her up, and reminded her that I am not negative about what she chooses to do -- and I don't appreciate her being negative about what I do. So, no more disparaging remarks. My son Barry has lived in Japan since 1988 after graduating from the University of Tulsa. He went there to teach "English" to adolescent Japanese children. I had friends in the work place who would tell me, "There's going to be an earthquake there -- you need to tell him to come home." I didn't see it that way. I believed it was his choice. I always believed our children "are loaned" to us. Barry has obtained his Master's and Ph.D (from Columbia University of NY in Tokyo) and is a professor in a Japanese university. So, Glenna, glad for your daughter and glad for you that she's safe and sound -- and had a good time! Have a great day and stay warm. 3. Vera, Thank you so much for checking to see if you had an obituary for Ethmer Boler. You are right. What a typo on my great-grandfather's death date. He died 12 August 1930 (not 1830, which was 20 years before he was born). You are so great to share with me both now and in the past newspaper obituaries for my great-grandfather John Wesley Boler and my great-grandmother Martha Elizabeth (Bates) Billingsley (aka Mattie). Thanks also for Myrtle (Boler) Puckett's obit. Lee Anne

Weren't married very long--maybe 1903? 3. Elle Dunn maybe about 1904? These names from Kermit this week. I think I posted that researchers appear to have crisscrossed Eva and Clemmie and have Clemmic Hawkins as the first wife. Thanks Pat

William Nathan Boler was a brother to my great-grandfather John Wesley Boler (b. 3 Jan. 1850 MS; d. 12 Aug. 1830). William Nathan Boler and John Wesley Boler were two of the five sons of my great-great-grandparents William Riden Boler (b. 26 Sept. 1824) and Martha Gordon (b. 6 April 1826; d. 10 Sept. 1886). William Riden Boler and Martha Gordon (wife 1) are buried in Violet Hill Cemetery, as is William's second wife Elizabeth Forrest (b. 7 June 1847; d. 18 Sept. 1915). Lee Anne

    3. Well, Happy Birthday girl, June! and Happy Anniversary! Pat and Eastle Sorry, I missed all this until today but belated greetings, anyway! Hope everyone had a very nice day! Think it may have been 27 here this morning but no precip The winds have been bad, lots of felled trees in three days, coming back down the highway noticed a lot of dead trees that the heavy winds had brought down. Looks like we are in for another today. Hold on to your hats! Catch you later Beth ----- Original Message ---- From: Pat Brewer <epbrewer@fmtc.com> To: arizard@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, December 5, 2010 11:28:00 AM Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] Morning "Off Subject" (Junebug) HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNE.  Wish I could be there with the coffee pot between us, yakking up a storm.  I'd also have a big hug for you.  I'm sure the girls and families will help make this a very special day for all of you.  Enjoy and know many of us are thinking of you.  Big HI to Ed also. Of course I can never forget your birthday.  This is our wedding anniversary - 58 years ago today. Wow, I can't believe it's been that long. Of course when I look in the mirror I know very well its been at least that long! And yes we also have been so blessed. Just think last fall I wasn't even certain we would be able to see our 57th, and here we are a year later.  God has been so good to us.  Eastle is up walking, dancing a couple of nights a week (so am I). His back is good considering all he's been through, so we have no complaints. Everyone have a good day. Our snow as stopped, but we still have plenty on the ground.  Kept me awake last night, it was trying to melt and come off the roof.  It can be quite loud at time folks. But at least we have a roof over our head, and it isn't leaking.  Some of us can remember years when we weren't that lucky. Have a wonderful day everyone, Pat ----- Original Message ----- From: "June Ramsey" <junebug@centurytel.net> To: <arizard@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, December 05, 2010 6:28 AM Subject: Re: [ARIZARD] Morning "Off Subject" (Junebug) > > > > > Thanks Betty Boy!
