Merry Christmas from snowy North Alabama, awoke this morning to a softly falling wet snow, sure was beautiful and looked so peaceful. It has about stopped for the moment. I found my old snow shovel, (which doesn't get much use here) and cleaned off the patio and a path to the street. The snow is very wet and heavy, you just have to push it aside, too heavy to lift. We got about 2 inches, but the lawns and streets underneath are probably warmer and there will be some melting. Problem is, supposed to get down to 28 tonight, so if it melts today and re-freezes tonight, travel may be a problem in the morning. But I wasn't planning any long trips anyway, church is just a mile away and would be about it for us. But just want to say I love and appreciate you all, couldn't ask for a better bunch of folk to correspond with and wish a very MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you and your families.......Harold Blevins, Huntsville Alabama

Merry Christmas morning ! - too each and everyone. Been up since 6 AM - washing up those dishes "for the fancy eating table" that haven't been out since last month - LOL. Wouldn't you know I couldn't beat June up - but, I am ready for cup #2 on coffee. Overcast and gloomy in Memphis - too warm to snow. We'll see . . . That is kinda like my mom's grandparents .name was suppose to be Wood, and alot added an "s" and makes it kinda hard to find the right spelling some times. I met a Wood's guy in Gordonsville , Tn. in 2002 when my dau Janice and i made a trip to see what we could find and he took us to where my Gillihan's and Wood families lived in the 1800's and some died there suppose to be buried in Clubb Springs but no one can show you exactly where .He said his family was spelled Wood at one time and his father added the (s) to it. I know Gillihan has been spelled in alot of different ways. My ggrandpa William Riley Gillihan Sr came from Tn. and brought some family with him in abt 1850,and had several children by first wife and she died he remarried and had several more children some buried in Burgess Cem, Twin Creek, Izard,Ar .one being ggrandpa and sure probably his wives. His grave doesn't have a marker and i don't know where his grave is number of rocks, and can't find any that does. that is another thing i wish i had been intrested in all that when i was growing up, and my family was living to tell me. The ony thing i worried abt is when is the next fishing trip.Ha! Have a good week end, and God Bless. Junebug ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary f. I want to second what Annita stated, I am so grateful for all my Izard family, if not for you I would never have found my Roots and all the wonderful cousins I have had the fortune to meet when I visited Izard County. I have truly been blessed. And you are right about family reunions, it's all about the hugs. Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year.
