Thanks Peggy, it has been a while since I looked at the Pigg family. I have a great lot of data on an old file that I have not added, as it all needs to be verified. This sparked my interest and I did add some more to that family. There is one mistake that probably is just a typo, Nancy Pigg married James McWherter on 4 Jun 1804 rather that 1884. His name is also spelled McWhorter in some files. The following text is taken from the book Clay County Kentucky / Histories & Families on page 293.This book was written and published by the Clay County Genealogical and Historical Society, Manchester Kentucky 40962. Pigg, William One of seven children of Paul and Sarah Pigg, was born ca 1735 in Virginia. The will of Paul Pigg was probated at the Pittsylvania Co. Courthouse at Chatham VA in 1767. About the time Daniel Boone was first thinking about coming to Kentucky. Paul Pigg had several thousand acres of land in different counties in Virginia which helped make the Pigg’s prominent in early Virginia. William and Mary came to Kentucky before 1790 and settled in that part of Madison County that became Clay County, in 1807. They lived in the area now called Fogertown. William had been a Sergeant in George Rogers Clark’s campaign to capture the Northwest for the United States during the Revolution and was thereby, in Kentucky, a great deal during the war. He was awarded 400 acres of land as was due a Sergeant. The 400 acres he claimed included the present site of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and his combined land holdings likely extended from there to Terrill’s Creek. William Pigg died about 1824. The fourth generation of the Pigg family in America. In his will of 1820, of record in the Clay County Clerk’s Office, He bequeathed land, household goods, the mill he had built on the Rockcastle River, faring tools and seventeen slaves. His earlier ancestors had been wealthy but each succeeding generation became the poorer. The children of William and Mary Pigg were : Patsey Martha Pigg ; born July 1, 1767, Married James Staten in 1782 John Pigg ; Born April 4, 1769 Anderson Pigg ; Born July 12, 1772, Married Polly Perry in 1793 Elizabeth Pigg ; Born August 23, 1774, Married Ruben Payne in 1790 William Pigg ; Born February 14, 1776, Married Polly Wood in 1800 James Pigg ; Born October 13, 1780, Married Susannah Adams in 1804 Lewis Pigg ; Born October 8, 1783, Married Sarah McWhorter in 1805 Paul Pigg ; Born January 21, 1785, Married Betsey Davenport in 1805 Sally Pigg ; Born January 21, 1785, Married Levy Burke in 1804 Nancy Pigg ; Born January 28, 1790, Married James McWhorter in 1884 Rosemon Pigg ; Born March 1793, Married Archibald Burton in 1810 Mary Polly Pigg ; Born March 20, 1796, Married Elijah McWhorter in 1811 All of the above McWHORTER
