I found a W F Taylor at age 21, b about 1886 living in Zion, Izard County married Delia Carpenter who was 18 also living in Zion with a marriage date of 30 Jun 1907 in Izard County. And, a G W Battles b abt 1859, 26 yrs old, living in Bawen Fork (Bawen?) Izard County married Annie M Lindley, age 21 from LaCrosse, Izard County, on 20 Jan 1885 IN SHARP COUNTY. Hi Pat, I've been reading your posts and I do have Finley information because this is my Granddad Taylor's side of the family. I have a 26 page document with repeats in it because it came out of ancestry.com and the same information would be entered in both husband and wife's site. I can send you an attachment if you would like it. The Green name many fall under my Grandma Taylor too - she was a Green, but I haven't looked there yet. Harold's relatives and mine cross paths too. You sure can't talk about anybody in Izard County, because you're probably related to them??? right??? I'm jealous of your son's fishing trip - we always went to Bull Shoals when I was a kid and camped out and fished. The only thing I don't miss about it is those big old misquitoes! Greetings, Pat, its been a while since we corresponded.... Yes, I did do a rather comprehensive study of the Izard Finleys a while back. There is lots of info about them online, the problem is in keeping the facts and sifting out the tradition, some of which may be fiction. One researcher has the Finleys traced traced back to Macboeda Macbeth Fionnladh Finlay, King of Scotland from 1040 to 1057, and the subject of William Shakespeare's 1606 play. I tend to disregard data like this since the research is subject to question, (but I did put it in my files just for fun.) Addressing your questions in order........ I have Vercy Ethyl Finley, born Jan 1903, dau of John William Finley and Martha "Mattie" Langston. She married James Arthur Green.,b. 1899. Next, I have Louisa Anne Brewster married to Isaac "Snapper Finley, both born about 1867. I don't show her married married to a Wilson The Sharp County couple is Frances "Fannie" Finley, d/o William Norris Finley and Sarah Ann Boles (Bales?), She married John W. Blevins on 30 April 1893 in Izard County. I don't have a list of their children but can probably get it from Ancestry. Most of the Izard Finleys come from Isaac L. Finley and Hila L. Martin, both born around 1800. I was Baptized in "Finley Creek" , by the Church and cemetery, but there's still a lot I don't know about them! If you have other specific questions, just let me know........Harold B. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Pat Foster" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 03, 2012 9:59 PM To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Subject: [ARIZARD] Finleys? (This may be a 2nd post--got the first one back for bad address so I changed it and trying again.) Hellow Everyone Would love to be able to come and see the fall colors in Arkansas! One of my sons went to Bull Shoals fishing this weekend. I'm anxious to talk to him about his trip!! I figure he will look forward to going back!! My great uncle, James Green, married Vercie, Versy, Versa? Finley and remained in the area for the rest of their lives. Apparently, one of my aunts kept in touch with some Finleys there and I have obtained a photo of a Louisa Finley Wilson. She MAY have first been married to Isaac Finley? I found a Sharp County marriage of Fannie Finley to J W Blevins on 30 Apr 1893. There is a photo with only first names: fannie, Will, George--that I think might be children of William Finley? There are 3 others in the photo with only Carl, Becky, and Fred listed. There's a marriage for a C B Finley to Norma Meadows--thought that might be 'Carl' of the above. They married in Izard 31 May 1944. Anyone have any suggestions, directions, about this family, I'll appreciate it! Pat Foster

Now the results have been back for several months and few really good connections have been made. He is related to the Rose line and one of the people that they sent to him as being connected had the first name Rose and that was the only connection.
