I forgot to mention that I have one Richardson that I can't "connect" yet. Jessie Adda "Addie" Richardson married Robert L. "Bob" Walsh. Bob was the brother of my GGrandfather, John William Walsh. Some years ago on AOL I communicated with a lady with the screen name of "Cricket" who was a descendant of Bob's but at that time we couldn't make that connection. Sad that I can no longer find her. If anyone knows who she might be I would sure like to finally make that connection. On 12/30/2013 09:26 AM, Jean Cuevas wrote: > Thanks, Billie! Wilma: My mom was Sarah Dixon, b 1902 in Melbourne, AR, dau of Jefferson Davis Dixon, son of John William Dixon, son of Harry Dixon, son of Matthew Dixon. I have both Dixon Books. Here is what I have on Miranda in my notes:Thu, August 5, 2010 11:41:42 AMDixon Info To: Betty Cavner I know that in the posting of the old Owen Dixon history, the web posting tried to be faithful to the original work, even though we recognized there were many factual errors. Some of the problems arose from the terrible penmanship of the census takers and the difficulty in transcribing that information. I wanted to share with you that one error that has been perpetuated is the wife’s name for John B (Brushy) Dixon b. 1812. Everyone is in agreement that her first name was Maranda/Miranda, but she has, for some time, been listed as Clemmons. In fact, her last name was Fleming/Flemming, daughter of James Fleming. That family can be found in the 1820 census of Bedford County TN. One proof I have is that when James Dixon (their son) was buried at Moody Cemetery in Howell County MO, his mother’s name was clearly listed as Miranda Flemming. Also, there is another brother to Jim Dixon buried there, and his mother’s name is also listed as Miranda Flemming. In the 1900 Census, she is living with John "Tonkey" Dixon and wife, Fannie Byler and is listed as a "Boarder" and is 84 years old with her birth listed as May 1816 and a Widow. Also have this info.: Farmer, cabinet maker, fiddle player, and Justice of the Peace. He built a wagon shop at his home and began to build the wood work of wagons, while Jim Cooper, a black-smith, did the iron work for him. He made wagons for the entire community. Most all his children played the violin. His home was three miles west of Melbourne. He was one of the fiddler supplying music for dances at the Centennial celebration held at Newburg July 4, 1876. 1860 Census, Izard Co., Mill Creek Twp, page 381, Jul 5, 1860 Fam 361: John Dixon, M. 47, bn TN Maranda, F, 44, bn TN Amanda 17, F., bn TN Thomas 16, M., bn TN Mary C., 14, F., bn TN Fannie, 12, F., bn TN Minerva, 11, F., bn TN Martha A.,10, F., bn TN John F., 8, M., bn AR Sarah G.A., 6, F., bn AR 1870 Census, Izard Co., Mill Creek Twp., page 217 b, Jul 21, 1970 Dixon, John 57, MW, Wagonmaker, born TN Maranda, 54, FW, born TN Phamy, 24, FW, born TN John F., 19, MW, born AR Sarah, 15, FW, born AR On Monday, December 30, 2013 11:14 AM, Wilma Norton <wilma.norton@cox.net> wrote: I'm wondering if anyone has knowledge of Miranda's surname? I checked in TN Marriages (on line) and did not find a John Dixon with a spouse with either surname. Also, I note that some people spell her name Maranda and some spell it Miranda. On the stone at FAG and in the Hayden book it is spelled with an "i" (Miranda). I assume it has been found spelled both ways, but does anyone know the correct spelling? I have assumed her daughter, Mary C was Mary Clemmons, but it was just an assumption. She was in the 1860 census as Mary C. age 14 born in TN. According to the Izard Cemetery book it is 'located off hwy #9 about a quarter of a mile north of Mill Creek Road road #15 and west of the old Belview Baptist church building. To get to it, go through the parking lot of the church and up the hill. It is to the left of Lloyd Parker's house.' If your Richardson's came to America in the early 1600's in Massachusetts I have the book "The Richardson Memorial" by John A. Vinton transcribed and online at : http://freepages.books.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~billie0w/richardson_memorial/index.html or http://tinyurl.com/nfkduo7 It is known that there are some errors but I believe that overall it is mostly reliable. My connection to the Richardsons is Joshua Arthur Richardson of Izard County, Francis Harvey Richardson, William Harmon Richardson and Vera Louetta Richardson. http://tinyurl.com/k34pad9 -- A cat is a puzzle with no solution. Cats are tiny little women in fur coats. When you get all full of yourself try giving orders to a cat. _ _... ..._ _ _._ ._ ..... ._.. ... .._

Just wanted to let you know that it appears some of the earlier attachments I sent out did not work for people. I had the Summary saved as an odt file (whatever that is).
