Jim and Judy so sorry about the loss of your cousin, Kermit. He was a really nice man. Saw him several times when I was over at Borden's and Aunt Tressie's. He also lived with my family when he first went to Wichita, Kansas to work. I saw him and his wife at Mom and Dad's funerals. Him and his wife were very sweet people. Sorry again about your loss. http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/ARIZARD/2000-05/0959098082 Really old post of Jim and Judy - gives family data. I probably wouldn't have found that if I hadn't been snooping around Morriston Cem on FAG for the past few days. Trying to help distant Cozort cousin fill in family blanks. Anyone research Cozort? They make it more fun by changing the spelling, even in one family to Cozort & Cozart. Cossart, from France, was probably original spelling. Several buried at Morriston Cemetery. 2 census I've been working on are giving me a headache: 1880 Strawberry Twp., Fulton Co., AR census Surname listed was recorded as Cozart but is probably meant to be COZORT . Wanda and Jim thank you so much. I thought I had that correct but was not sure. Some time ago I visited the Cemetery at Ott, Fulton, AR but was not able to gain additional information. I have been trying to sort out some of the Marriott family, unfortunately the name is spelled so many different ways it is hard to sort them out. At this time I am converting all of the to Marriott at least until I can eliminate duplicates. Don At 09:09 PM 9/2/2010, you wrote: > Hi Don, > >William C. This same boss would call me in to his office for (shorthand) dictation, with the Carol Burnett and Tim Conway routine. He'd say, "Mrrrrrssss. Wiiiiggins." McCarty & Frances Elizabeth Agee Hi Don, William C. McCarty is my g-grandfather and he married Frances Elizabeth Agee. William C. McCarty's parents were Larkin McCarty and Malinda Marriott. Larkin is listed in the 1850 census in the household of Rutha McCarty. In 1860 Larkin was married to Malinda (Marriott) and can be found in Ozark Co. MO, Falling Springs twp with 4 sons; John (9), Wm. (6), Greenbury (4) and Redding (1). The year of Wm C McCarty birth has been somewhat of a problem when looking at all the census records and it is not consistent in the various records We have used the birth date of January 15, 1851 which came from his obit. My Mother and grand parents thought Wm C was 95 yrs old when he died, which would put his year of birth in 1851 and since they didn't know about census records, the date is probably calculated back from 95 yrs old. The obit says William C. was the son of Lark and Lendia Mariott McCarty and that he was born in Ott, AR. Larkin and Malinda are listed in the Fulton Co. Cemetery to be buried in the Center Point Cemetery with only stone markers, however, we have been to this field and there is nothing left but a few upright stones which "could have been" markers. It is now a cow pasture and not marked off. No dates of death are known for Larkin and Malinda. Hope this helps, Wanda and Jim ===================================== On 9/2/2010 6:08 PM, Don Ott wrote: > Can someone help with the parents for William C. We all know everyone makes mistakes even the newspapers. AND funeral homes. Not long ago there was an obituary for a man and they had posted a woman's picture with it. ============= > Vera, I sent you the obit from yesterday's Guard for Bonnie Weaver and > noticed someone else did too.
